August 23, 201213 yr I bought mine in December of 2009 from a place called guitammer.com for 129.99 -- I think Guitammer is the parent company, or the manufacturer. (Not a lot of time to read about it this AM.) Don't forget to check eBay, amazon and the other usual suspects. I just found it on K-Mart.com for 129.99 - the Gamer 2 that is. Same thing I have. August 23, 201213 yr Commercial Member $129 at Kmart is a good deal. They used to easily run $150 or above for version 1. Version 2 is a better design. To me, this is as much as a "must have" as my Track IR. Got three of 'em. One strapped to my chair, a 2nd on the pedals and a 3rd on the Throttle Quad. The sensation is superb. August 24, 201213 yr Hello On my chair those "thick black stems" are only plastic covers over the metal stem, do yours not slide up or down in a concertina manner ? I just came home and checked my chair out.. yup.. its got the plastic thingi and all I had to was simply pull that thingi down and clamp it. It was just as easy as that.. and I am kicking myself for giving up so easily 4 years ago. Oh well! Now I can try this out., I have not hooked it up. I just clamped the unit to the chair for now. Tomorrow I'll hook yup the rest of the stuff. Luckily I had everything in the original box as it came, Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
August 24, 201213 yr Author Thanks. Hmmm very tempting. Mind if I ask where you got yours from and the price you payed for it? On their site it's $149 but I think I've seen it for less. Thanks Lee Sent using Tapatalk I got mine from NZ, I live in Australia and we pay an electronic 'tax' -- everything is completely overpriced and a rip off. So you guys in the USA have it very good, even at $150.00. The device works extremely well for FPS games as well -- brings a whole new meaning to Battlefield 3, you can actually feel the guns you fire recoil. :) Oh, and did I mention getting into the fighterjet? August 24, 201213 yr ok! I set it up and used it for a while (the 737NG, the Real air Lancair and the FSX chopper) and here is what I think (and feel). Initially my volume on the Amp was high and the cross over (Low frequency) was set at the highest frequency possible. I started with the 737NG, and my chair was vibrating .. I rolled the aircraft and landed with a Thud on purpose. There was a disconnect between the vibration and the aircraft on the screen. This has nothing to do with the Buttkicker..the buttkicker was purely translating the low frequency sound from the audio out and when the 737NG landed, there was no extra low frequency sound sent when it landed with a thud. I then set the cross over to the lowest frequency possible and reduced the volume on the Buttkicker amp and it felt so much better. I then took the lancair out and it was good but not great. Maybe I was expecting too much? :) I then took the chopper out and the vibration felt perfect... in my head, the vibration resonated with the chopper engine/vibration more than the fixed wing aircrafts. For fixed wing aircraft and the roar of the engine..you really need a good power subwoofer, and a buttkicker that is set to very low freqency,, sub 20Hz? Overall, I would definitely use it. But I think I need to find the right setting. Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
August 26, 201213 yr Author Yes, you have to fiddle with it for each software you use to find the right spot. GA aircraft work really well; you can literally feel the gears and flaps extend. I'm thinking of getting the larger buttkicker version now to attach to the couch for movies :) Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering
