Guy: are these the settings ?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

The AP plays up sometime and I'm not sure I'm doing things right. Can you please tell me if the following tweaks are the only ones I need to apply to have the Ap work fine ? I only use the a330-a340

On the "Pitch using Elevator" page:

1 for the A330/A340: Max Accel= 1 Decel zone= 4.0

2 On the "Roll using ailerons " page:

for the A32x/A330/A340: Max Accel=25.0 Decel zone= 6.0

3 SET (after aircraft load) for all models (A32x/A330/A340)

on the "G Load using Trimmer" page (7-th and last page) of the hidden parameters

the parameter MAX CONTROLLER Change = 30 (instead of 200).

4 "AxisIntercepts=Yes" positioned in the Fsuipc4.in

Thanks

Hi,

YES, those are the correct and only necessary modifications for the A330/340..

Works fine here with the original PSS A330/A340 , Tom Ruth's A330-200/300 and A340-300/600 and also the PA A380 !

Now , to be SURE that the PSS autopilot works WELL, you must follow this procedure :

-Start FSx

-Load a DEFAULT aircraft (for example the trike or a Cessna) to get everything basic initialised

-Then only load the aircraft with the PSS panel and gauges

Otherwise the autopilot might work, but it might also "play fool" !

Well, I'm sure was doing exactly as you suggested but the AP still has a mind of its own. Most of the time the pop up ap panel works to change heading or stuff but sometimes you do have to click on the AP of the original overland to have it work.It is absolutel

y essential here to click on the ap1 of the virtual cockpit to make sure the plane gets to a certain altitude without ending up 3000 ft above only to come back down and up again likea yoyo :(

Did you load FIRST the default Aircraft ?

Also, The modifications of the hidden parameters must be re-entered after each new load

of the aircraft ! (sometimes they are still there and sometimes not)

I use for example Thomas Ruth's A330 with the Pss panel.

Thomas has adapted the default A321 VC for the A330.

As I said I use the Pss Panel with this VC where I have integrated the Pss Pfd/ND/Ecam's.

The default autopilot is still there in the Vc but it's useless (and also seems not to disturb).

I use only the 2d Pss panel for settings.

All this works very well ! Even autolandings are perfect !

I don't know at all the Overland, but perhaps the Overland autopilot disturbs the Pss one ?

Perhaps you should desactivate it ?

Oh yes, this is the first thing I do.

Just did let's see if it works.

Edit: tried it and it does not work.

This is intriguing me !

To better understand, I have looked now at Rafapiloto's tutorial video.

The ONLY difference between his way of doing and mine is that he uses those POPUP's

in the VC for the Ecam's and also the PSS autopilot, the FCU !

So logically you could conclude that those popupup's cause the problems !

I suspect especially the one with the Pss FCU .

The simultanous use of the FCU in the 2d panel and the popup may cause problems !

It may work in FS9 , but not in FSX.

To see if the popup's are the culprit:

-Do a flight without using them. Use only the PSS 2d panel for autopilot and other settings.

(If that is ok , I think you can use the VC, but not the popup's, especially the FCU).

-If that doesn't give better results use a more radical solution:

Supress the popup's (by deleting the corresponding windows from the panel.cfg) and

make a flight.

it's strange I used the pss gauges with cls a340-500/600 and they work fine.maybe the pss gauges do not like overland planes :-)

I overtook now Rafapiloto's good idea and added a POPUP for the FCU in the

pss panel of Tom Ruth's A330. (I choose the FCUvfr)

I have made an entire flight by using either the FCU in the 2d panel or the

FCU-popup from the VC and there were NO PROBLEMS ! The two work well !

Only little flaw: on the FCU of the 2d vfr panel the lights of AP1/Ap2/Athr and the

white dot's of SPD/ALt did not work (but the FCU itself works!)

So the popup FCU is NOT the problem !

Maybe you are right and there is an incompatibility between pss and overland !

Btw, I do not have (yet) the Bbs bus, but I follow a bit the developpment on the forum :

it's ASTONISHING that those many things that apparently do not work with the BBs bus

(Managed speed on approach, managed descent, FMA indications, ecam pages etc )

work well with the good old Pss (in FSX) !

I have that and , in my opinion, I don't think it is worth buying. One could either merge the paibus or get the aeorosft extended that is being released next week or wait for the fslabs
