The most realistic 737NG yoke and pedals...?

Featured Replies

I've been using a CH Flight Sim Yoke and CH pedals for many, many years now and I've been very happy with them both but lately and especially after the arrival of the PMDG NGX and taking my simming to more realistic levels than I ever did before with help from great products such as FS2Crew Voice Edition, lots of great sceneries from Aerosoft and their AES I've been thinking of maybe invest some money in a new yoke and new pedals and my goal would then be to come as close as possible to what the controls in the real 737NG feels like. Some years ago I was fortunate enough to get to try a full motion 737NG sim at SAS Flight Academy and as I can recall the main difference was the force needed to move the yoke and the pedals compared to the CH ones I currently use and also the CH gear feel very plastic in comparison.

Since I don't have a home-made cockpit (at least not yet...) a new yoke and pedals need to be in the same format as the CH ones I already got, ie the yoke must be able to be attached to my desk and the pedals must be able to simply stand on the floor underneath the desk. I've seen there are control columns that pretty much look exactly as the real thing but I guess those kind of controls must be screwed to the floor in some way and I doubt that would be very popular if you would ask my GF

TIA for any input, maybe someone of you guys already did a similar "upgrade" of your controls and could share you experience !

I heard the ACE yokes are pretty good. But expensive. And they don't fit your criteria.

I would try any of the PFC yokes, I'm using the Beech yoke one right now, and it works out excellent.

Did you think about PFC? ACE is quality of its own, yes, but PFC might be what you are looking for: desk yoke with strong feeling.

One that note, I would LOVE to get me an ACE yoke some day.

I ordered a motorized Sim Revolution Jetstream TQ platinum because I understood it is a very good product.

For next year I consider to bye their (elevator trim) motorized gold star yoke and a captains seat.

I do not have a hardware cockpit (yet) but as applies for WebMaximus I am looking for a more realistic yoke, particularly yoke force.

What is your opinion on Ace versus Jetstream? (I understood the Ace yoke is not motorized).

I never seen anyone here on AVSIM own a Jetstream yoke, let alone a motorized full column yoke. The price is extremely high.

So, how to compare it with anything else, hard to say. I think on this one you will have to go with your gut.

Thanks Srdan,

I will dig in further. BTW, I found a Dutch simmer on cockpitbuilders.com who recently bough two Jetstream motorized yokes.

I'am anxious to hear his opinion.

I don't know how people can justify the expense for a motorized yoke -- I would rather spend that money on other hardware/peripheries
