Removing Liveries

Recommended Posts

What is the correct procedure (if there is one) for removing models/liveries from the 747 so they do not appear in the "Select Aircraft" page of FSX ? I had a problem with needing to reinstall my 747 program because of the loss of my "Validation", and I wondered if it was because I had removed all of the [flightsim.N] in the aircraft.cfg except the one I wanted to fly all the time. I believe PMDG sometimes refer to not changing ANY of the files for the aircraft, and I wondered if this also included the airdraft.cfg file.

Each livery has an uninstaller in your add/remove programs. This will also take care of any registry entries.

No uninstaller for the liveries or engine types in the original (shall I say default ?) download. These are what I am talking about, not later-installed add-on liveries.

You are not trying to remove the models with the PMDG house livery, right?

For other liveries, you can use the installer that came with the download, which will detect whether the repaint is already installed. If it is, the installer will give you an uninstall option. You can also use CCleaner's uninstall function to uninstall liveries.

Yes, I removed the models of the types of 747 I didn't want. Must have been the problem, as it caused me to have to revalidate my program.
