Installing Megascenery Earth Arizona North & Central

Recommended Posts

I just purchased Megascenery North & Central Arizona. The purchase link sent me to a page from where to download 32 zip files. That's ok. But what is not funny is that each of the install files have to be run separately. And as I wanted it to install on E:\MegasceneryEarth instead of the default C:\MegasceneryEarth, plus having to enter the FSX location for each of the 32 exe files, you can imagine my frustration ;-) Ok, there are more tedious things in life than that, but I wonder if maybe I might have missed something that would make the installation process more userfriendly. I am looking for fellow simmers that have found a way to get around this problem

I have so far installed a couple of tiles, but will wait a little bit before installing the remaining files.

When all is done, I also plan to merge the individual scenery folders into one big one.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Unfortunately it has to be done tile by tile. They do this so you don't have one huge 30,40,etc GB install file which at that size could be corrupted quite easily and hard to download for some people.

What I did was copy the install location using ctrl+c and then pasted it back into each one as I installed with ctrl+v so I didn't have to navigate there each time. It is a lengthy process but I think the results are worth many more times what the effort is.

Thanks Zboe,

That's what I suspected. So, I'll bite the bullet ;-)

And I understand why they did split it in smaller files, but I was hoping that they might have cooked some batch processing in order to facilitate multi tiles installations.
