June 26, 200421 yr Try setting your upper frame rate limit to unlimited - just as an experiment. If that fixes your problem your locked at too high a frame rate, try leaving it at unlimited for a while, or try lowering the lock.Try also increasing your texture_bandwidth to 256 or so...You could also changeTERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=8.000000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=9.900000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=4to TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=40TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=60TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=6but results may vary...Post back how it goes!Best,sg [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
June 26, 200421 yr Hi,I'm not real certain how to help with this. I have somewhat blurry textures at a distance too! If anyone has the ultimate FS9.cfg file (almost)guaranteed to get rid of the blurries as long as your system has the muscle for it, I wish they would post it! ;-)Jim
June 26, 200421 yr Author I tried what gridley said, but no dice.In the second picture you can really see it, it hardly loads them at all. Its kinda like when you ALT+TAB to go to MSN or like Internet Explorer, and you come back after some time and they are all blurry and distorted. Except it won't even bother to load them.I never had these problems on a 2.0ghz, 1gb pc2100, fx5200 Ultra system, so I don't know what is causing them! I also want to change my BIOS on the AGP aperature, but I can't find that section anywhere! Image Coming... KregE | B757/767 FO
June 26, 200421 yr You may want to try this, I have my frame rate locked at 25, and by texture bandwidth is at 450 and I eliminated that problem on my rig which is p4 1.7. Also I have my visibility distance set to 100 miles. You may want try these settings and see if that stop the blurries.CheersBob
June 26, 200421 yr Here is you answer. This worked for me cost $60 and my flight sim has never been better.http://www.fs-gs.com/systemunification.htmRegards,Andrew.
June 27, 200421 yr Author it would be hard for me to live with dropping $60USD on something like that. Image Coming... KregE | B757/767 FO
June 27, 200421 yr Author I did that, and no dice...it never worked!I don't have a clue what it could be!!!;( I know my computer has the HorsePower to do it, but it just don't want to work. I don't know what it could be, maybe it could be something with my new ram or something. When I check properties on my computer, it shows that I have the 1.5gb ram and 3.01 ghz HT.Maybe it has something to do with my page file, which is initial 1gb, max 2gb.I'm gonna uninstall everything to do with FS9, and set my pagefile to window's managed, and then reinstall in the safe mode! Also, If anyone could tell me how to change the AGP Graphics Aperature, it would be a great help! June 27, 200421 yr Hi,you can change your Graphics Aperture in your Bios menu: Restart your computer and press the "Del"key. Your Bios-menu appears. Somewhere in that menu you can change your graphics aperture (In my bios menu it's under "Advanced" and "Chipset"). I tried it but I didn't see much difference. On my 128 MB videocard it doesn't seem to have much influence, using the 32, 64 or 128 aperture. Making the aperature greater gives a very litte framerate improvement but also causes stutters. So in the end I found that the 64 MB aperture was the best for me (default). I didn't see any effects on loading textures.By the way: I've that loadingproblem in the distance to. It looks a bit like I'm drunk..Herman
June 27, 200421 yr Set your frames on unlimited. Go to ATI control panel and turn Vsync off. See if it helps!!

June 27, 200421 yr Also, make sure you're running with the AF set at 16xAF (performance) in the control panel. I find this to be the best setting. I tried 4xAF once and ended up with a bunch of blurred ground textures like in your pictures. I also run 4xAA.
