FMC can't load flight plan from Flightsim Commander

Recommended Posts

I use Flightsim Commander to produce PMDG flight plans and they are stored in the \FS9\PMDG\FLIGHTPLANS folder with a *.PLN extension. However, when i click INDEX>NAVDATA>FLIGHTPLANS in the FMC there are no flight plans listed. Both the PMDG software and Flightsim Commander have the latest NAVIGRAPH updates. This is a Windows 7 system. Flightsim Commander was installed to C:\FSC not \Programfiles(x86), so I don't think that is the problem. A real mystery because it was working just a couple of days ago! Am I storing the flightplans in the correct folder? Can someone suggest something else that may solve the problem?

Hi

Don't know if this what you're looking for but have you saved your flight plans into the FMC using the FMC on screen 'SAVE' prompt? I think it's LSK 3 or 4 left?

Hi,

Just incase you still have the same problem, the saved flightplan from the commander has to be in RTE. format for the FMC to recognise.

Cheers, Dave.

so the question remains , how do I get a FS9/FSX flightplan witch extention .PLN  in the PMDG

B737  NGX  FMC   when I press LSK's    ROUTE  -  CO ROUTE   nothing comes up I have copied some FLTPN's  in FS9  PLN format  from  Documents\flightsimulator files  to  my  D.\FS9\PMDG\FLIGHTPLANS

and changed the filenames  to format :   ICAOICAO.RTE   but (as expected) when I press CoRoute nothing

comes up  I;am a bit behind on the FSim  time-table  I now fly FS9 since I only now have the

money to buy a FS9 capable PS  Excuse me for that  so in the fora I am also a bit behind never mind I am having fun just the same  see you  Peter

I have copied some FLTPN's in FS9 PLN format from Documents\flightsimulator files to my D.\FS9\PMDG\FLIGHTPLANS and changed the filenames to format : ICAOICAO.RTE

That wont work. The .rte files are in a different format to the FS9 .pln files. You need to either create a .rte file from your flight planner software, or enter the route manually in the FMC and save it.

Try this freeware site where you can produce PMDG plans  http://www.simroutes.com/fb2/ParseRoute.aspx%C2'>

I use Flightsim Commander to produce PMDG flight plans and they are stored in the \FS9\PMDG\FLIGHTPLANS folder with a *.PLN extension.

FSCommander should be storing them in \FSX\PMDG\FLIGHTPLANS\ as *.rte files

Make sure your paths are set correctly in FSComander (under the paths tab in the save as dialog box) both for your Main FSX folder and the FSX flightplans folder.

Then ensure that there is a tick in the box for PMDG when you save the flight plan.

FSCommander will then save your plan to the PMDG\Flightplans folder as a *rte file and also to your FSX flightplans folder as a *Pln.

You can then load the *rte file into the FMC by pressing the Init REF button on the keypad then Route> at R/ LSK 6, finally enter your route name into L/LSK 2 (Co-Route) .

Then Exec key

Where is your FSX installed, hopefully not under C:\Program Files (x86)\

(sorry I thought for a moment you were using FSX) but the paths part in FSCommander  is all the same whether using FS9 or FSX

FSCommander is perfectly able to save a *rte plan to PMDG's folder and it is straightforward to then load it into the FMC.

You do not need any other flightplanner than the one you have already paid for, just read the doc's for FSC and the PMDG 737 and you will be fine

ok first thanks to y'all for help and advices , I do and did all my planning in FS9 and FSNav , told you I am

years behind the present FSim situation still flying FS9  FSX to difficult for me though have to admit in some

places (about 10) the FSX scenery looks stunning but in the other 9999990 places it looks like the deserts

have expanded worldwide and beyond.  So I have no FSCommander neither :  EUR 39,90 is exeeding my limits. In PSS FMC you can import FS9 flightplans directly , so I took it for granted that PMDG FMC

could do that too.  Well I have the solution now :  http://www.simroutes.com/fb2/showplans.aspx

it may not be 100% perfect but it's good enough for me I can allways edit the plans in FS9 or CO_Pilot Pro  I'll start preparing my  G-LSAA  for her next flight   NCL-TFS departure  22:00 NCL time
