October 2, 201213 yr I took the Qualitywings RNZAF 757-200 from Whenuapai to Christchurch today in preparation for a supply flight to McMurdo Station on Antarctica later this week. Here are some shots. 1. Taking off from Whenuapai. 2. Solid climb angle with downtown Auckland in the distance 3. Turning south after reaching the first waypoint 4. Passing over Mt. Taranaki (2518m high) 5. Default bloom/hdr can sometimes give you some cool effects 6. Crossing to the South Island with many bays to our left 7. Descending towards the flats in which Christchurch is located 8. Wing view during approach 9. All configured, which Christchurch as our background 10. Landing, off center due to the fact that the FMS and FSX weren't on the same page about where the centerline was exactly. Hope you enjoy the shots!
October 3, 201213 yr the wingview looks great o_O RoyalSkies.CO.UK Youtube Vidz !My website will be back soon with new paints and videos! October 3, 201213 yr Truly magnificent shots. Great scenery. I understand from VeryBumpy's comment this is Orbx scenery. They make some awesome scenery. I'm having a hard time deciding which is my favorite. No. 1, 4, and 5 are amongst them. Mt. Taranaki looks vicious. Thanks for sharing.
October 5, 201213 yr Do they fly the RNZAF B752s to McMurdo? I used to live close to Christchurch many years ago before they had the B752s, so things may have changed. Thanks, Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
October 5, 201213 yr Hey Bruce. Yeah, they have flown the B752 to McMurdo. I don't know if it happens on a regular basis or just for some excercises, but here are a couple of pictures: http://www.airforce.mil.nz/gallery/photo-gallery/overseas/antarctica/default.htm@pageno=2.htm -Jasper
