Any FSnavigator lovers out there..check this out

It runs as a module within FSX so cannot be networked.

Just like FSNav. Thats a killer.

This is a pleasant surprise. How good is this? I have been toying with it for a few hours, and note that you cannot create or export a flight plan as you could with FSNAV but perhaps this will come later,

I did notice an anomaly and a work around with a flight plan created with FS Commander. After the FSC plan is saved, and attempts are made to load it in FSX via the flight planner, there occurs an error message indicating "type mismatch". I found that if you load the flight plan Bonn to Frankfurt and then save it for example as Bonn to Frankfurt2 then FSTramp will accept this format into the graphical map.

I hope that great things are coming for this much needed successor to FSNAV.

Interesting! The fine print at the bottom of the home page says "Impressum: Helge Schroeder" - and he is the guy who made FSNav!!

Could this be a rebirth? Does anyone who tried it know if you can run it on a network? I was doing fine with Plan-G as a replacement, but the new version 3.0 just doesn't work for me, so I'd be very interested in FS Tramp if it can be networked.

Cheers

Jack

Yes! This certainly appears to be the work of Helge Schroeder, who was the author if the much-loved FSNav.

As I recall, Mr. Schroeder was involved in a serious auto accident around the time FSX was released... and the ongoing recovery from his injuries was so difficult that he felt unable to continue developing software or to create an FSX version of the program.

Evidently his situation has improved. If so, it's great to see Helge back, and I look forward to giving this new incarnation of FSNav a try!

If thats so it's great he 's back programming again.FSnav is one of my all time favourite programs.

i'm using Win 7 64 but it's all over the place in fullscreen mode.

hopefully he will crack the fullscreen problem and i'll be first in queue for it.

What do all these programs do that Skyvector doesn't? Now that skyvector has charts in the rest of the world what more could you need?

It runs within FSX, and has airport parking maps.

FINALLY.

Never been an issue for me... I guess because I use another monitor, and display charts (whether AFD/terminal/enroute) on the 2nd monitor.

yepper...this is the beauty of something that can run in full screen mode within the sim itself...makes life alot easier for us who's single monitor desktop setups are challenged for extra space :-)

...for us...getting our moving map and/or airport/nav/comm info on the fly has always been a pain in the arse if you didn't bother getting all the charts or writing it all down before you started your flight!

I have to admit though that I have not been able to get this new app running on my setup...I keep getting a CTD whenever i try to call it up...oh well...I think im the only one with the issue though so far.

I can't run it in fullscreen without the map freezing and constantly redrawing the frames of the window when you drag it around.

I don't know how people got it to work in fullscreen. It doesn't re-draw itself correctly if you resize it/move it and let go.

FSnav was sold for £12. 0p ten years ago. This program is in fact cheaper taking into account the rise in the cost of living. So, it's cheaper.

now i am assuming people are having issues with this in DX9 FSX...Has anyone tried it in DX10 FSX, because i suspect it will handle the window issue a lot better in dx10
