FSMaintenance (or similar) for FS2004

Featured Replies

Hey guys-Was wondering if anyone knew of a version of FSMaintenance that is compatible with FS2004, or of any other similar programs for 04. Thanks for the help.Aaron

Aaron,I use a program called FS Reliability Factor. It allows you to set reliability percentages for all of the major systems, instruments, etc and can produce failures based on these settings. It doesn't have a lot of the fancy features FSMaintenance had (actually no maintenance whatsoever is involved) but then again it's a lot cheaper and I find it pefectly fine for just having that added chance of something going wrong. The website is http://members.rogers.com/swsupport/index.html if you're interested. Another program that I own but don't use as often is called Alert Pro. That monitors your flying similarly to the way that FSMaintenance did (although on a much smaller scale) and can produce failures as well. I find it to be very touchy, but you can decide for yourself. The site is http://www.flytechsoft.com/In short, no, there's no real replacement for FSMaintenance in FS9, but I think if you're just looking for that added realism of having something possibly go wrong FSRF may be the best bet (and it's only like $7 so if you don't like it it's not a huge deal...)-Marc

The payware planes from FSD International include an engine damage model. Run the engines at too high an RPM, for example and expect heavy maintenance costs or even a failure. It certainly doesn't contain all the features of FS Maintenance, but it is a nice extra feature to already excellent aircraft.
