Aerosoft Las Vegas vs Megascenery Las Vegas?

Featured Replies

Which of these 2 scenery paks is the best? I love flying to and from Vegas. Aerosoft looks pretty good to me, but I'll ask you.

Aerosoft:

- larger area covered

- more landmark buildings

- no night light texture

Megascenery

- smaller area

- less buildings

- has night light texture

Aerosoft scenery is great for day flying. It has no night or season textures. So If you fly into Vegas at nite it looks black. Mega scenery looks great and has night textures, so when approaching Vegas at night it looks alive with nite lights and buildings.

Actually, the latest version of Aerosoft USCitiesX-Las Vegas Does include night textures now. They had an update which includes them. Not bad, the ground night textures are not so hot so I use MegaScenery Las Vegas as well and use their night textures. I also add in FSDT's airport and Bluesky scenery for outlining areas, and create my own for certain areas.

Aerosoft will give you more buildings, more details where MegaScenery will give you a wider area and better ground night textures. I would start with Aerosoft and then get Mega when it is on sale at 'Deal of the Day' (it might be on sale right now).

Aerosoft city LAs Vegas is a real bad product. The building tectures are outright so bad its worse than any default generic building. I bought it..installed it and I thought it was something I did that messed up my install. I had duplicate buildings I saw nice buildings along with a duplicate crappy version of the same bldg. Then I went to Aerosoft forum and asked for help by posting the screen shot. I solved the duplicate issue.. .but the crappy bhildings were the LV City bldgs from Aerosoft. and I was told thats just Aerosoft scenery..

Do not buy aerosoft Las vegas city. Although I like Aerosoft products in general..its LV City is crap.

Megascnery las vegas is awesome..along with FSDT KLAS. There is no competition. not even close.

Here is a topic I posted there and it has some screen shots... Even the phto scenery of the city is bad... And Megascnery is awesome

I use Aerosoft's Las Vegas along with Blue Sky Scenery for the Mesh and the area not covered by Aerosoft, and I also have FSDT KLAS. IMHO that is a really great combination. No FPS hit whatsoever.

It may be true that the textures of Aerosoft's buildings are of lower resolution, but for flying airliners in and out of McCarran, they are more than sufficient!

And there indeed is night lighting ofr Las Vegas.

Thank you for the great input. Seems Megascenery overall is the better choice.

Yes, MegaScenery is outstanding. It not only covers Las Vegas near the airport, but it also covers a large area around Las Vegas which is simply oustanding-- Day or night...Probbaly the best large coverage secenries I have seen.

I also use MegaScenery. I find the default buildings for Las Vegas good enough so I don't need the Aerosoft product. MegaScenery is for sure enough for me. High quality ground textures and a huge area covered, that's all I want.

I actually run both megascenery for ground textures and Aerosoft Las Vagas X or the city...

too much, too soon....

Think I get megascenery as well
