October 17, 201213 yr You know I was thinking how about if PMDG takes the challenge for an Airbus series. Could they do it? Would they have the knowledge, people and skills to do it? I keep wondering . This is how Flight Sim has been (and is) on Airbus developement. PSS: came up with the Airbus series, many, many years ago and it was acceptable for that time; worthy to admire. The full family: A320--> A340 ( How I enjoyed those CAT 3 Landings--amazingly smooth) CLS: brought decent graphics and very lite systems Wilco: brought the "best" system so far but with very poor graphics and poor to no support Airliners XP: tried and gave up before even completing a full flight Airsimers: also tried but could not make it acceptable BlackBox: (PSS) came back but I've heard its sytems aren't right, as yet. (but getting there with several updates) Just Flight: light everywhere Aerosoft: Has also tried; came up with the most gorgeous graphics in a/c design I have seen in FSX..and semi-lite systems. Now, waiting on the Extended version but it has been easier said than done..No idea when it will be finished..I hope they do not give up...would be great especially with those lovely graphics- Stunning! FSLabs: Several years now in the making, and we don't know if they'll ever manage to succeed... We hope they do! (so far, everyone seems to have failed) :( So, do you see what I seeee ? (no not the Christmas carol)... I mean, developing a Proper Airbus seems to be the greatest challenge men has seen in flight simulation. No one has managed to do it so far. Would PMDG be capable; or anyone else? Good Question !!!!
October 17, 201213 yr It's a lot easier to build one in my other sim - X-Plane10 - and there are a few good examples... Then again, X-Plane10 is not perfect, and that's why I keep using both ;-) Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
October 17, 201213 yr blackbox is pretty good in fact, systems is not finished yet becouse its work in progres, v 0.54 right now. But blackbox is a way better than wilco, FBW is awesome. And v 0.55 will bring on more systems, HD graphics, redux stile lights etc... This is what i know for now... FS Labs is expected to be the best, for sure. But Blackbox is maybe the best at the moment, you can compare it with wilco anyway... Zeljko Budovic
October 17, 201213 yr hi i thing FSLabs is on the right way it will be amazing  Francisco Bermudez
October 17, 201213 yr The Airbus X Extended is going to be fantastic. Graphically, it looks to be up to par with the NGX. It has a fully functional FMGS and almost fully modeled systems.
October 17, 201213 yr Commercial Member Yeah Airbus X Extended is really good but I feel that FSlabs is going to be the ultimate 737NGX of Airbus. I am sure that they are going to make it, I think they have achieved a lot already and also unlike Airsimmer and other companies that failed they have made another high quality product before this one so they do have enough experience too.
October 17, 201213 yr I think FSLabs will be the best to. The Extended should be really good to but ill probaby just save my money for the FSL Cheers Lee
October 17, 201213 yr blackbox is pretty good in fact, systems is not finished yet becouse its work in progres, v 0.54 right now. But blackbox is a way better than wilco, FBW is awesome. I also have the Blackbox Airbus and yes it's WAY better than the Wilco one in terms of looks, FBW, systems etc. The FMGC works a lot better than Wilco's IMO particularly when making changes to the flight plan and accurately calculating TOD. It does need a bit more work though and am eagerly awaiting v0.55 which should be out very soon hopefully. Michael R

With Wilco if you put stick full left or right plane turns really quickly until it hits the limit, however with Blackbox it seems to happen kind of slowly.
October 18, 201213 yr People tend to forget that FSLabs did the Concorde as their previous product, and that was amazing. I have no doubt that they'll deliver an Airbus that's worth every dollar. Got to wonder does real Airbus FBW have kind of heavy feeling on controls? With Wilco if you put stick full left or right plane turns really quickly until it hits the limit, however with Blackbox it seems to happen kind of slowly. Aileron is very responsive in the real aircraft, and the control feel is the same for their entire Airbus FBW lineup. (maybe except the A380) it's an intentional design feature so crews can easily transition between different types via CCQ.
October 18, 201213 yr So, do you see what I seeee ? (no not the Christmas carol)... I mean, developing a Proper Airbus seems to be the greatest challenge men has seen in flight simulation. No one has managed to do it so far. Would PMDG be capable; or anyone else? Good Question !!!! The only thing I see is a strange question asking if PMDG could have done better. We do not know the answer to that because at this moment in time they have not - FACT. Lets not forget that it was only at most 12 months ago that they released a very good 737 NGX for FSX, such is the development time for these great products, (and let's not forget they had a very good product for the earlier MSFS version). PMDG are very good at what they do, but they are only one amongst a few other great developers. That is the way the market develops. Have faith, we will see an acceptable Airbus and if we don't, many of the faithful will go straight back to the NGX.
October 18, 201213 yr Johnny767, Thanks for the post. We all have Airbus fever and your analysis was very accurate and puts everything in perspective. I am on the edge of my seat for Airbus X Extended and anticipate the FSLabs Airbus. PSS was great in FS 98/FS 2002?, I think. I have flown Wilco for years and have had many good days and bad days with those jets. I hate the cockpit textures and some aspects of the flight model. Airsimmers was a waste of time. I have Blackbox .054 but have not spent much time with it. I will take a closer look. I wonder if the Carenado King Air 200 or Majestic Dash 8 Q400 can make me forget my Airbus fever. Doubt it. October 18, 201213 yr Well since a former PMDG member is part of FSLabs you will sometime get your answer
October 18, 201213 yr I was going to buy Aerosoft one but since FSLabs one is just around the corner (I think I read somewhere it should be out in December?) I think I'll wait for that one. Tomaz Drnovsek My FSX Videos My AVSIM Gallery
