I would start by checking the aircraft.cfg file for VC lights..

Like:

light.4 = 10, -9.5, 0.0, 3.6, fx_vclightcartresseis,

light.5 = 10, -14.0, 0.0, 2.8, fx_vclightcartresseis,

Then go the effects folder and check the effect

fx_vclightcartresseis

then change the color values (cut them in half as a test..)

Hi Bert,

I am wanting to dim down the VC lights in the Carenado C-206. In looking at what you noted in this tread,

I found this in the lighting section of the a/c cfg.

------light.2 = 4, -3.27, 0, 2.05, fx_vclight--to dim down the lighting do I reduce these values??

I looked in the Effects folder and could only find this: fx_vclight.fx

I am not sure if that is the correct entry for the C-206 as I could not find anything specific for that aircraft in the Effects Folder.

Any help would be appreciated as the cockpit lights in the C-206 seem too bright for me.

Thanks,

The file to edit is: fx_vclight.fx

Other airplanes may use the same effect, so be prepared to change it back.

Open the file with Notepad and edit the color values.

I think he's referring to the actual VC panel texture, those blue lights are indeed way overdone... I have modified all my Carenado VCs and will send you a pm tomorrow with the fix you need. Any other aircraft you need this for besides the A36?

Hi SledheadAK,

Could you send me your fix on the C-206 if you have modified its VC lighting? My main complaint on that one is the overhead light that cannot be turned off.

Thanks,
