I can't beleive PM is still a contender, IflyCBE and prosim are soo much better and economical.

If you get a download link for 4sync, close the tab and reopen...i opened the link 10 times and got the 4sync download 4 times.

Sorry Im late to the party. I got it when it was free, and went to have a look to see if there was an update.

So that leads to the question : As it was freeware when i downloaded it, does that mean i can freely distribute it?

Good question, but my first assumption would be "no".

 

So why does i cost money now? Is it PM that is now all of a sudden charging for it, or is it some scum sucking lowlife that has packaged it as their own and is now selling it (not unlike what some have tried to do with freeware aircraft addons, or with Flightgear)? If it is PM that is all of a sudden demanding rediculous prices for something they used to give away for nothing, maybe a nice polite email will get you some results. I've tried this approach with other sofware producers (not FS related) and have been very successful.

Those who give away something as a free download for atleast 2 years (what i know of) and then try and charge $100 for it.

So you'd have had no complaint if $100 had been charged for it initially? You also give them no credit for having offered us a free addon for 2 years.

 

I think it's becoming clear where the greed is.

Guys, it's a normal for people to react this way when prices go up on something. It's not necessarily greed on both sides, it's just normal human behavior. I don't see people whistling and hop scotching their way to a gas pump as fuel prices continue to rise or all smiles at the grocery store when seeing food prices go up. It's PM's business decision to start charging for something they used to give away for free and that's ok, it's their decision for whatever the reasons may be. Will people be upset? Of course!!! LOL

True, but the implication was that the developer was being greedy because it's now decided to charge for someyhing it previously gave away.
