What are your top 3 aircraft in FSX ?

Featured Replies

My add-on hanger is still in its infancy

no one yet mentioned my top all around favorite:

RealAir Siai-Marchetti SF260 - now this aircraft is very sparse in its presentation, but that its strength IMO...nothing else I own feels like it bites the air like the way this aircraft does while yielding great fps

Alabeo Waco YMF5 - a new arrival in my hangar; its so beautiful and the way it lugs along is just a blast to fly IMO

A2A P-51 WoPIII - now this aircraft lets me cruise GA style but HIGH and not so slow...Yay!!!

Carendo Bonanza gets a happy nod for getting DX10 cockpit shadows and bloom done right; I wish all addons would do the same. Can someone chime in if the RealAir Lancair Legacy's VC does shadows and bloom in DX10?

1) A2A B377. Since I really don't care much for airliners it's kinda funny that there's one at the top of my list, but it is the plane I've been flying the most, mainly thanks to the COTS upgrade. Also if you're going to pretend you're an airline captain why not pick a period when airline pilots were looked upon with respect and envy rather than suspicion as these days?

2) Baytower RV-7. How to pack 2 million tons of fun into one tiny package. If you get bored when flying this you're doing something wrong.

3) A2A Piper Cub. The J-3 is arguably general aviation's greatest icon and A2A's version is the tribute it deserves. Tundra tires means airfields are superfluous.

I get in different moods. Sometimes, I'll go weeks just flying the NGX.

Right now it's:

• Eaglesoft Cessna Citation Xv.2

• A2A Civilian Mustang with Accusim

• Coolsky's DC9

• PMDG 737NGX

I love the:-

- Carenado C208 Caravan

- Carenado C210.

at the moment, that is what I fly.

PS..... my first post - I am new here, so Hola Amigos!

Changes everyday, but I think

- Carenado Bonanza F33 with RealityXP gauges and GNS

- Lancair Legacy with RealityXP

- Carenado's Cessna 172 and 152.

- PMDG 737NGX

I know this is four, but this list rotates so often, it's impossible to say which are the top three :-)

Baytower RV7

RealAir Duke B60

Carenado CT182

RealAir Decathelon

1. PMDG NGX

2. QW Avro

3. QW 757

Randy Swofford

RV7? It sounds like a WWI fighter in external view. Something is seriously wrong with the sound of that aircraft.

Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!

1. Just Flight Constellation (Tweaked a lot, if I could get the cowl flaps to produce drag and get reverse pitch on the props it would be just about perfect.)

2. Just Flight Bae 146-200

3. Captain Sim 727

I have already choosen 3, but I forgot about the Flight1 PC12. Great plane.

1. was RFP 747-200 but not in FSX anymore, now TM737-200

2. L1049 by Manfred and team

3. DC3 by Manfred and team

Now looked into 737-400 for a change, and is also nice. (Feelthere, but FDE needs my touching)

QW Avro is also a very nice plane for the short hops.

@Taver: The free calclassic.com from Manfred, see 2, has it if I remember well.

Maybe you can add the sim1049 gauge to get it ?

1. Baytower RV-7 with my hardwood venier panel mod

2:A2A P-51D Accusm (now the Civillian version)

3. Carenado C-185 Tundra with bstole mod and my panel mods

And a strong 4th runner up goes to the Flight Replicas Super Cub package.

I work in the tower in Duluth and we've got a local RV7A that flies around, mostly in the warmer months... anyway it sounds exactly like the BayTower version... I've gone outside on the catwalk to listen (nerd!)

For me the planes must have curve appeal before I bother with learning how to fly them ;)

Top 3:

RealAir Legacy

PMDG MD-11 (still learning this one)

Flight 1 Mustang

and the runner ups:

PMDG NGX

A2A J2 Cub

BayTower RV-7
