King Air panel lighting

Recommended Posts

Sorry to be 'that guy'... but I cannot seem to get this fix to work. I unzipped the .dds file on my desktop then dragged it into the texture.common folder and replaced the original. Then I copied the above text into the [Lights] portion of the aircraft.cfg... but I am still getting the full on dome light when i switch on cabin lights.... can anyone help me figure out what im doing wrong?

It's not a matter of copying the lines, you have to literally "comment out" the line: "light.0 = 4, 4.00, 0.00, 1.00, fx_vclightcarcnB" by putting the "//" in front of it like this: //light.0 = 4, 4.00, 0.00, 1.00, fx_vclightcarcnB

Jim :-)

Hi Jim,

I must be missing something here. I have put the dds file into my texture.common folder per the instructions and this is my [LIGHTS] section in the cfg file:

[LIGHTS]

//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing

//light.0 = 4, 4.00, 0.00, 1.00, fx_vclightcarcnB

light.0 = 10, 4.40, 0.00, 2.90, fx_vclightcarcnbB

light.1 = 10, 4.40, 0.00, 2.90, fx_vclightcarcnbB

light.2 = 10, -1.80, 0.00, 4.00, fx_vclightcarcn2B

light.3 = 10, -5.50, 0.00, 3.85, fx_vclightcarcn2B

I have also tried it like this:

[LIGHTS]

//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing

//light.0 = 4, 4.00, 0.00, 1.00, fx_vclightcarcnB

light.1 = 10, 4.40, 0.00, 2.90, fx_vclightcarcnbB

light.2 = 10, -1.80, 0.00, 4.00, fx_vclightcarcn2B

I still get the dome light and not the cool looking dim cockpit lighting above

Just switch on panel lights and not cabin light. cabin light will still display the light. the trick is with the panel lights that also switched on the "dome" light.

So to see the effect. switch OFF "cabin" light and only switch ON "panel" light.

Thanks flying bob! Sorry I am a little slow sometimes, I got it working now. Next step: figure out how to actually fly it - should be fun.

Hi Andy, any chance to get the same changes to the c90 panel lights?

Thank you,

Raul.

Hi Raul,

I am sorry for the late reply ... I am quite big busy atm so I lost the connection to this forum ... but I saw your great own VC light creations and they do look VERY good!

Cheers!

Thanks a lot.

I was trying out the Carenado B200 for the first time this week, and the lighting was one of the major flaws I found with this addon. I really miss the Aeroworx King Air 200 were you could use the dimmers in the overhead panel to set lighting of various instruments individually.
