Hi,

Few weeks ago i bought a new PC : I5 3570K, gtx 660, 128go ssd, 1600 mhz ram (2x4 go) ...

So i took my time to configure FSX, i made so many tests with fsx cfg and nvidia inspector, and finally chosen my preferred settings.

Briefly: poolsize=0, 8xs antialias and 2x transparency supersampling, adaptativ vsync + 1/2 refresh rate. FPS limited to 30 with nvidia and unlimited IG.

and some other tweaks of Word Not Allowed's guide and nvidia inspector on pmdg forum.

So everything is ok i have constant 30 FPS and very very few stuttering/micro freeze, but in aerosoft paris CDG i drop to 10-12 FPS in the ngx cockpit and 15 to 25 outside. I have 100% traffic with My Traffic X but this addon has very simple traffic and doesn't affect my FPS ( i've tested)

Then i overlocked to 4,4 ghz (+30%), i hoped to go up to 15 FPS in cockpit but nothing changed... Am i Gpu limited or i didn't OC well ?

(sorry for my english!)

The tweaks vary fromPC to PC they wont allwork the same, even on identicalmachines, you have to play. pne tweak at a time. Than most detailed scenry will cause a FPS drop even on th ebest machines. You will find if you look in a certain direction the FPS will go up and in another and they will drop. Lke that at most detailed scenery. Its why ORBY wont do YSSY.

Yea, you are right and it gets on my nerves ! For example there is one guy on youtube with gtx 560ti and i7 2600k who has constant 60 fps everywhere in his game with everything maxed, i asked him his tweaks and he does'nt even know what nvidia inspector is ! he only use poolsize=0 and unlimited fps.

Did the guy on YT say in what AC and scenery he gets 60 fps ? When I fly the NGX at MA EDDF with GEX, UTX, REX, Traffic, Overcast etc. I fall down to the low 20´s fps (look my specs). Even overclock to more than 5Ghz would not go much higher.

If you overclocked your cpu, it is a must do reset your fsx.cfg (delete it), or delete following two lines:

[Main]

ProcSpeed=10078

PerfBucket=7

FSX will evaluate cpu speed again and perfomance should be ok.

Current system: ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4, Intel 12900k, 32GB RAM @ 3600mhz, Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity, M2 SSD, Oculus Quest 2.

I feel your pain man, FSX is boneheaded old turtle. I'm too scared to buy the NGX for these reasons and fly the relatively kiddified AirbusX. Just waiting for the Extended which apparently performs just as well which is good because I'm not willing to lose more fps at Heathrow. Already getting to low 20s.

Sorry to say that wont make any performance difference. Its true that resetting the .cfg after an overclock will register higher values for the suggested settings it will produce, but it wont change performance at all.

I have a lower system than the TS. Running i5 2500k at default clock speed and a Jurassic 9800GT 1GB and 4GB of RAM, when it comes to a dense airport or autogen area, the sliders should be lowered, especially Autogen Density to 'Dense' and slashed the traffic to 30 because I cannot live with 14 fps, therefore I never invest in payware airports, GA's and Warbirds instead. The TS has a big expectation since he has done a lot especially overclocking but one should be well informed that no one has, afaik, ever run fsx with all/most sliders to the right without making some corrections in a dense area/airport.

It's funny because I've seen at least two people in the last month bragging that they can do just that (max settings, high AI, addon scenery, airports etc at 30+ fps) in the NGX so obviously some people have computers that are blessed it some way.

No Word Not Allowed, i didn't go up 11 to 15.

Before and after overlock i had 11 FPS in ngx cockpit and 15 to 25 (depends of the view) outside, my OC changed nothing.

I am going to change some tweaks for testing, and try to overlock 4,5 ghz if it doesn't need to much vcore.

Pe11e > i erased the two lines, it looks like i have 1-2 FPS more or nothing, i am not sure :/

Chris198 > He uses PMDG and aerosoft planes, for example :

He says that that he have 40-50 FPS on this scenery (fly tampa dubai)

I only have 25 FPS outside in flytampa dubai, and 14-15 FPS in cockpit with ngx. But constant 20-25 FPS if i don't look the parkings.
