November 29, 201213 yr A French appeals court overturned manslaughter convictions against Continental Airlines and a mechanic for the July 2000 crash of an Air France Concorde that killed 113 people, ruling Thursday that their mistakes did not make them legally responsible for the deaths. http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2012/11/29/france-concorde-conviction-air-france.html It has taken 12 years of his life caught up in the courts so I think he has been through quite a lot by now. I agree he should not be held criminally responsible but do acknowledge he made a very big mistake on that work order. Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me

November 29, 201213 yr This link to the Los Angeles Timesexpands on the judgement: On Thursday, an appeals court in the city of Versailles overturned the earlier verdict and cleared the airline of blame for the accident. [updated 9:28 a.m. Nov. 29: However, it upheld a previous ruling that the airline bore a civil responsibility for the tragedy. Appeal court president Michele Luga said she accepted expert statements that the metal from the Continental plane had caused the tragedy, but said this did not warrant criminal charges being brought against the airline. A charge of criminal negligence against one of the airline's mechanics was also overturned. The appeal court's decision clears the way for a separate $19.4 million civil lawsuit being brought by Air France for damage the tragedy caused to its reputation.] . Gerry Howard
