FMC Descent Page - Entering WPT/ALT Restrictions?

Recommended Posts

I noticed that there is provision in the CDU/FMC Descent Page to enter in a WPT/ALT Restriction for any part of the Descent Phase. However, it will not accept any input?

Just checking to see if I am in error operationally, or, is the provision just eye-candy and is non functioning?

Appreciate any assistance/clarification.

PS: I've even attempted to enter details into the field during MOD ECON DES, but still doesn't accept any input.

Rgds,

Steve

I believe that is just for your own awareness, it displays the first speed and/or altitude restriction it pulls from the legs in your flightplan.

Hi AJ,

I recently viewed a video tutorial which discusses the function in the NGX. Here it is, it commences at 6.45 mins.

I've watched several of his tutorials and I consider them to be knowledgeable, that's why I'm pursuing this here.

Rgds,

During descend take any waypoint from your flightplan and enter it in such format KONIP/120. Now all the parametrs on LSK 5L would be shown taking into consideration this restriction.

You can also enter an arrival runway - RW36R/, for example. Altitude would be entered automatically. It's runway elevation+threshold crossing heihgt.

Use DELETE to allow FMC to set next altitude restriction as it written in legs page.

Yep. Great tool. You need to grab it from the LEGS page, not enter it manually, however.

Hi Matt & Rostyslav,

Thanks for the clarification! I'll give this a try now and see how I go.

Much appreciated.
