PC Aviator has many of them on sale this month for 25% off. Buy them on Tuesday and get an additional 10% off. The Tuesday purchase date tends to pay the shipping and handling on the DVD.

 

Yeah, if you do the Tuesday deal it works out pretty well. Otherwise, the DVD less 25% + shipping works out to be only a couple of dollars below the retail DL price.

 

As for the airports, it's kinda funny that after all this time if we limit the discussion to just PNW, my favorite Orbx airport remains Bowerman (KHQM) which is free. After that, like Ray I really enjoy both Jefferson County (0S9) and the new Siletz Bay (S45), as well as Orcas Island (KORS). I have many of the others, and I do visit them all (except Anacortes) occasionally, but I'm glad that Orbx has begun branching out with more widely spread airports in their other regions where I have a number of favorites.

 

One of the reasons I like Bowerman is that it has a good selection of IAPs ,and (especially this time of year), wx that really makes you USE them! There just aren't that many quality airports out there that are GA and have a descent selection of approaches.

Jep, if you decide to add some additoinal areas to the PNW, then KJAC, Jacksoon Hole, WY and KSFF, Spokane shouldl serve you well. Very generous coverage areas for both.

These premium airports tend to be smaller, local airports and are done by several different teams or individuals. Some are outstanding, and all are a great improvement. I tend to prefer the ones that cover a somewhat larger area than just the airport grounds. The later ones also tend to have the most ah-ha and Oh wows included. A couple have an extra grass strip included.

I am originally from Sweden (but parents are from Venezula!), but have lived the last 10 years in England, but now my work takes me to live in Astoria, Oregon for some time, so I am exploring the area in Orbx land, as well as in the real world!

 

Thanks again everyone - Orbx really need to make it clear which FTX regions each and every airport is in; they're very inconsistent with it at the moment.
