Minimal improvement in FPS, but the sim seems more fluid in general.Certainly worth installingCould be a placebo effect though ;)Dan.

HiJust d/loaded and installed last night.Did some "tests"...like flying the most frame hit a/c from my hanger in the most framed hit scenery that I have! There was not much different from the old DirectX 9b. Very very slight stutter on short finals( 2sec)..other than that not much I see.Other sceneries and a/c(defaults) were excellent! My specs: P3 1Gig and Vid card GF3 with 64mb and 786mb memory SDRAM...Yeah yeah it is a very OLD system...can't wait to upgrade to new system SOON!! :)Happy Flying.

No noticeable improvement in fps here either but I also had a sense that textures were loading a bit quicker and there seems to be a bit less pausing when changing views.

Hi,My results are like Zevious Zoquis says, no noticeable improvement in Frame Rate, but textures load a bit faster when switching views.Jim

What is the download link? Microsoft is still showing 9.0b.

Howard - See www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.aspx?displaylang=en and then click on the "DirectX 9.0c End-User Runtime" link on the top right-hand menu box. This is not a self installing file. Unzip it to a temp location and then run the setup from there.Doug

I am seeing similar improvements in texture loading times, and maybe a slight improvement overall in smoothness. Of course as Dan mentioned, that could be a placebo effect. I am fairly sure textures are loading faster overall however. No problems so far.

Hello All,OK, used a base line flying fron KWER over NYC with Aerosoft's Manhatten scenery with ALL SLIDERS MAXED, (my usual setting).(ai traffic {my traffic} set at 40%).With old Dx9b with frames locked at 25, experienced a low of 10 and a high of 25. Experienced a slight stutter on changing views. With new Dx9c with frames locked at 25, same exact route, time of day, weather and such, noticed a slight increas in fps and a better increase in smoothness for the sim. Keeping in mind, and stutter or jerking is NOT acceptable for me. NO stutter on changing views.I saw a low of 11 and a high of 25. Both flights were taken in the Citation X standard with all features the same.System: P4 3.2 OC'd to 3.54 800fsb ASUS P4C800-E Delux 800fsb Kingston Hyperram PC3200 GeForce Ti-4600 128 OC'd 310 - 685 Omega 1.4523a drivers air cooling 13 fans total in case. cpu temp 43C mb temp 38COverall opinion of Dx9c -- a modest improvment, probably would see more when my ATI 9800 returns from being repaired, (bad chip).Best to all,Clayton T. Slight increase in Frame Rage....also, less stuttering. However, I should point out that I un-installed my video card drivers before installing 9.0c. After installing 9.0c, I installed the latest drivers from Nvidia's site. So these drivers could also be the cause.AMD 2200XP, GF4 Ti4600/128MB RAM, 1.5GB RAM, SoundBlaster Live! Value (I know, I know, but its still working like a dream, so I ain't giving it up :) ), Asus A7V333.

Tisk, Tisk, now you know that you only change one thing at a time cause if you change more than that, you never know which one was the magic bullet. sorry, couldn't resist, way back when, in road racing, as a driver I always wanted certain changes to be made in the car . . . my crew chief always use to say that to me . . . and now I had the chance to give it to some one else. And yes, I know, it's very difficult just to change ONE thing.BestClay

Ive been running if for weeks with WINXP SP2 RC1.Didnt' even know it =P
