Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I don't see it if it has.

 

Is there any way to view the exterior of the aircraft while in flight or on the ground for that matter?

 

There only appears to be a "chase" mode and a "fly by" mode.

 

I would like to look around the aircraft (checking lights, etc.) while flying. All I can do currently is to see the back of the aircraft and then turn from that point - losing sight of the aircraft.

You can use the external view (View - View is Circle or Shift + 4)
