Also, these aren't the pro but still a great price to get 500 gigs of SSD storage and a significant boost over mechanical etc...

These are great OS drives and then get an 840 Pro for FS...

These are not PRO drives my friend. They are the regular ones. And with 840 series, the difference between PRO and non-PRO drives is a lot bigger than it was in 830 series. If I were you, I'd get the regular 830 PRO, they are far better than 840 regulars.

The 840 Pro is awesome, but this is still a great deal on a great SSD.

 

By the way, there's no 830 PRO that I'm aware of

Reads are still up at 530's in all benchmarks, writes are capped at 256, big difference is TLC which has a lower endurance rating...
