Amazing OCs for inexpensive RAM

Recommended Posts

I recently installed a 2x4GB kit of this DDR3 ram in my aging P55 motherboard:

Samsung Electronics Extreme Low Voltage 30nm UDIMM 8 Dual Channel Kit DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM MV-3V4G3D/US

Over at OCN and other overclocking webs sites these 8GB kits have been a sensation for weeks now. My kit cost me $35US and I can run it at 2067 (173x12) 10-10-10-28 T1 @ 1.5v with my i7 860 3.8Ghz OC. Others have reported simular timing at higher speeds on IB/SB systems. This stuff smokes my 1600 4x2GB mushkin redlines which cost me nearly 6x the price (though at 1600-1700 the redlines rule). Definately an amazing deal for the performance, plus they are super low profile and easily fit under those massive coolers. This kit plus my FSX dedicated SSD should tide me over well until Haswell releases. Anyways just a heads up for you fine folks here, just in case you had not heard about this. Here's a good reference to check it out: http://www.overclock...b#post_18780279
