Am I the only one not entirely happy with FlightRadar?

Seems like half the flight I click on have bogus ORIG/DEST data assigned to them...

The problem with flightradar, is having to maintain the database. Especially domestic (US) or intra European flights like to juggle with call signs, for operational reasons.

Mode S/C or ADS-B does not have the option of origin-destination fields, so they can't read that data from the plane itself. The only way to have at least an idea, is to look at which route had the same call sign before, and use it again.

For long haul flights, this method is perfect, since they hardly ever swap callsigns around. For shorter hops, it doesn't always work.

Via ADS-B receivers, sometimes Mode-S or Mode-C data is added in, but ADS-B alone should be sufficient.

I am running a fairly basic SBS-3 setup.
