January 1, 201313 yr whether or not one uses an "outside" database it's important to also keep[ the sim database updated. There is another programme tha works in xp and for fs9 that adds individual facilities. For the moment I can't remember its name. January 1, 201313 yr http://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids.html Interesting...!!! I noticed the Navaids use the current cycle! http://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids3.html I just bought that AIRAC (for the 737 NGX and ProATC/X) and so I guess installing this will bring FSX on the same level...? Interesting! Do I also need that updated Magvar data...? It's from 2010. Better then 2006 but I don't really know if I should install it or not. I wonder how many people use this? I never really heard of it...
January 1, 201313 yr I use latest magvar and the latest navaidupdate. I always use the lates airac in both PMGD and EFB and have never had any anomalies.
January 1, 201313 yr Awesome, so applying this update, will bring the source of where EFB is getting its data up to date, thus the 2 will be far more current and realistic shall we say? Did I get that right? As far as I understand it EFB gets it's data from a Navigraph database. This update will bring the data within FSX up to date and thus it will match the EFB data better. January 2, 201313 yr i'm currently testing EFB, seems good but i have some stuff that i really find annoying, i tried reading the manual messing with the settings but could not succeed. my main problem is about the zoom level of the charts, when in the 'departure', 'arrival' or 'enroute' charts you can't zoom closer than a predefined distance (which is way too far away), so when there are a lot of fixes in a small area everything is just unreadable and the charts becomes totally unusable. Did i miss something in the settings ? also the flight planning seems odd, you have to choose the waypoints in a list but you can't see the map at the same time, so it's hard to do. Also doesn't seem to support custom user created waypoints. But well maybe this program is not really meant to be a flight planning program (you have to do it elsewhere and then just import it EFB ?). Correct me if i'm wrong of course. the thing i really like in this program is how it is able to draw correctly the SID/STAR/approach on the generated chart, really cool feature. Is there another program able to do that ? (i tried FSCommander but it doesn't always draw SID/STARS correctly, it draws them in a more 'simplified' way) thank you
January 3, 201313 yr No need to be sorry I know V2 has been talked about officially for a long time on Aivlasofts forum. I have no affiliation with them other than beeing a satisfied customer Morten
April 2, 201412 yr I dont believe that Aivlasoft uses the FSX airports data. For example, just to name a few, airport layout and the taxiways in LOWW vienna do not match the LOWW scenery I installed
April 2, 201412 yr Commercial Member I dont believe that Aivlasoft uses the FSX airports data. For example, just to name a few, airport layout and the taxiways in LOWW vienna do not match the LOWW scenery I installed You need to run the data update on the Provider part of the EFB program each time you update or add sceneries. August 9, 201411 yr Hey, I have run the data update provider on the Aivlasoft program after I have installed new airports scenery but the chart still doesn't match the FSX airport scenery. Amything I am doing wrong?
August 9, 201411 yr Hey, I have run the data update provider on the Aivlasoft program after I have installed new airports scenery but the chart still doesn't match the FSX airport scenery. Amything I am doing wrong? You probably don't want to hear this, but the only issue I've had is with EFB containing the new name and identifier for Johannesburg International Airport (FAOR) whereas FSX has the old name and identifier (FAJS). So a flight plan created in EFB with FAOR cannot be used in FSX. But out of curiosity, could you provide more information with your issue? Which chart does not match which FSX scenery? And is the FSX scenery custom or stock? I want to see if I can duplicate the issue. Stevan Makarevich
August 9, 201411 yr Well, there are a number of airports that has this problem but the one I am talking about here is EDDB airport Berlin Brandenburg/Schönefeld in Germany by Aerosoft. The ground taxi chart doesn't match the FSX scenery
August 10, 201411 yr I know there is a site for European charts, although it escapes my mind right now. But I use AirNav for most of my U.S. charts. If you do a search by airport, you'll find every approach and SID/STAR chart for that airport listed, with all information. This is actual chart data, not simulator, but it works great with the PMDG aircraft. I'm getting ready to purchase EFB to run on my networked computer, and I especially like the airport data (gates, taxiways, runways). Don't know how much of that will be wrong, but I watched a Froogle video at KJFK, and my FSX airport map was fairly identical. What I want to know is how to put my aircraft at a gate not listed on the FSX list. That is, without slewing the A/C to a particular gate. On the FSDT airports, I have problems with the jetways when I move an aircraft to another gate. -= Gary Barth =-
August 10, 201411 yr 9 times out of 10 it's because the airport developer is using an FS9 coded AFCAD file in FSX. EFB cannot read FS9 coded facilities files so it uses the next lower priority AFCAD file instead. For some reason Aerosoft seem to do this a lot. Cheers, Andy.
