I'm ready to buy some new scenery for the London area, including the city itself as well as the major regional airports.

Which scenery add-ons, as single products or in combination, would you recommend for best visual detail?

Between performance and visuals, I would rather sacrifice performance for better views.

That the objects appear to be 3-dimensional is also important, as I want to be impressed by the views while flying at low altitudes, not just flying by high above all the interesting sights.

Some of the choices I've been considering are Orbx England EU, Aerosoft VFR London X and City Airport, Aerosoft Mega Airport London-Heathrow X, UK2000 Heathrow Extreme and London City Extreme.

(If this question has been recently discussed elsewhere, please point me to the appropriate thread(s).)

Thanks for that suggestion! That was an excellent review, and it's help me make several decisions already.

Now I just need to decide on whether to go with Orbx England.

London is a real HOG on resources, big time, so if you don't have a mega PC, then be careful in what you expect out of it.

ORBX:ENG has had some mixed feedback so far, lots wrong with it, it needs a lot of work, or if your not from the UK, then its perfect and you wont know any better, but will be surprised if you ever come visit.

It caused non-stop stutters on my overclocked rig, big ones too, and looked so wrong, I just had to disable it, but it has no "un-install"

I also tried VFR London, and that just ground my rig to a halt down into the 12fps region, it was terrible, but luckily I got my money back via Amazon for that :-)

So for now, I'm using UTX and GEX Europe... Combined with all UK2000 Airports and the entire UK2000 VFR Airfields :-)

Works really well, and its smooth flying too..

I have ORBX:ENG and it works brilliantly , my computer is not over clocked , and I still get smooth

scenery .I usually fly the Alphasim /Virtavia military F-111 down low ( often below 200' ) , and fast at about

420-550 knots , and I still get smooth scenery.

London scenery is good , but the general rural areas are way beyond fantastic ,the mesh resolution

is really stunning , if there is a bump in real life it will be reflected in their scenery.

If you want to enjoy your flying in England , then my recommendation is to get it.

Cheers
