Hey, It is a small world...I'm from Dayton as well. I've never come into this forum before, and it's cool to see this thread. Before my father passed away he was involved heavily in the Dayton Airshow. He got started in it as a performer in what was then called the "Dayton Air Fair", back in the 70's. He brought his F-105 in from McConnell as part of the static display. After transferring to Wright-Patt, he retired from the Air Force and to make a long story short, he was the Military Coordinator for the Dayton Airshow, later called the United States Air and Trade Show...Anyhoo, I'm familiar with West Carollton. I'm from Huber Heights myself, now living in Philadelphia. It's nice to see how close knit the aviation community is. Just a few weeks ago a couple of our pilots came in for training, and upon talking to them, I found out they both flew C-141's at WPAFB with the 4950th Test Wing. Most definately a small world...BTW, does anyone remember the year we had the mass airdrop by the 82nd Airborne? Six C-141's and three C-130's full of rangers...what a sight! Also the same year the MC-130 Combat Talon II almost set the Emery sort facility roof on fire with his "snowstorm" flare drop. Man, those were the days! Hope to make it back home for the show this July, should be a good one for a change.Best Regards,Nick Landolfi
