December 31, 201213 yr I took this screenshot this morning. It was taken from the tower at Rankin Inlet, Canada (CYRT). As luck would have it, the aircraft, a Captain Sim C-130H, happened to be aligned with the setting Moon as the landing gear retracted after takeoff.

January 1, 201313 yr Author Thanks,John, The Arctic Circle is kind of dark this time of year, isn't it? The shot was taken about 0900 local time. I wish the moon was a little brighter in the picture. The sun was rising in the other direction. I was enroute to Alert Bay (CYLT) for preperation for my Pole-To-Pole flight around the world in the C-130 . I hope you are enjoying your New Year.
