January 3, 201313 yr 1 Jan marked the 30th anniversary of the Boeing 757-200 being placed in service with launch customer Eastern Airlines. MSN 22191 reg no N501EA. British CAA certified the aircraft for flight in UK by British Airways (2d launch customer) on 18 Jan 83. 22191 was transferred to NASA but its current where-abouts is a bit murky. Other than being transferred to L-3 Capital as N144DC that's about it. L-3 apparently operates a couple of B752s for US DoD as "COMCO" but that's about all I could find (or maybe want to know?) scott s. .
January 4, 201313 yr There are still a number of these guys flying. A friend of mine with American says it is probably the best ever. Very reliable and could fly when others would drop. I always loved to hear the growl of the Rolls-Royce engines. First time I heard them I thought the engines had gone haywire.
January 17, 201313 yr Just like the F-15s, I think the quality of the build of these aircraft with the reliability they had might not be seen again for a while. Well the 777s were a fine build.
