I used to be a lot closer to you, St. Jean, serving my beloved Canada. I never thought I would enjoy living in Quebec, not speaking French was a concern. Well, it was the most fun I have ever had, weekends in Montreal are pretty hard to beat, love Crescent Street. Too many hours, and far too many dollars left in those establishments.

Well, to be fair, Glen, I think that like people in the FSX forums acknowledge the bad parts of FSX and deal with them in the way they know how, most of us acknowledge X-Plane's shortcomings and deal with it in our way. That is, dialogue with the developers themselves. Email, bug reports, interaction on the forums, etc. I think a lot of us understand the reality of the situation with XP in that a smaller dev team is only going to be taking incremental steps. While there are some things that I would like to see (as stated before, more regional specific autogen, a more robust AI/ATC environment, etc), sometimes we just want to enjoy what is available. So we do what we can to improve it on our own, like tweak the flight models for those who are so inclined, or use tools to improve the scenery, like I generally do, and we're happy with it. Not content, make no mistake. We want to see improvements as much as anyone else. It's just at some point, it becomes a dead horse. LR pretty much knows what the desires of the community are by now. How those desires get implemented (or not) is purely up to them.

Fair enough Jon, thanks for the thoughtful post. I will step away from the pulpit, for a bit. Maybe I should spend more time in OpenStreetMap doing more edits, man it's tedious. :P

Oh man, that will never happen. My most despised team in all pro sports is the Montreal Canadians. I had a blast in Montreal, I will never ever cheer for the Habs. Remember how they used to spit on the floor in "Corner Gas" (probably need to be Canadian) when someone said "Wollerton", well it's no different in my house when someone says, Habs. :P It gets pretty slippery.

:LMAO: :LMAO: Montreal has around 4000 hookers  and all 4000 are on Crescent.......

I loved Corner Gas and still watch the re-runs.

we are soooo off-topic in this thread, let's get back to simming talk: XP10 > FSX Just%20Kidding.gif

Well then just like Granville.

Let's face it, we'd all pay whatever it cost to have THAT experience in our home simulator, yeah?

I rest my case Robert: build it right, and the user base WILL go up, and moreover, people WILL pay for it, and moreover still, devs could make a living doing it.

You and I agree Noel. If only they could build it to look like the RW video you posted of the Airbus approaching 16C at KSEA. That is my dream!

For the record, I have said here in this thread: I know XP can and will get better. It's arguably not perfect. It IS fun to fly. Meanwhile I will do my best to do whatever is possible to encourage Laminar to keep on truckin' and to work towards improving and refining XP.

Sure, sounds good Robert. Thank you for bringing the topic up as it keeps me looking. 64-bit is a big deal in some ways as it definitely solves memory troubles for starters which opens more side doors. I'm watching too. I may just make a donation to LR as at the moment and as I think I may have mentioned early on--don't have the time to invest in learning a new sim unless the evidence was so compelling that, out the door, it's a for sure improvement over tricked out FSX. Right now from what I sense in the thread, it's not quite hit that mark. I do like to support good causes and as I say moving to 64bit is substantial and shows promise, though from what I read I think this was especially important for Mac users.

Hi, been an xp10 user since may 2012, finally dumped my buggy stuttering FSX drive, for the perfectly smooth flight of XP.

No more OOMS, no more CTD,s no more tweaking or using Bajotes,s tweaker, no more worrying will I finish my flight. My PC is a monster, v good graphics card and whilst it would run FSX at 30fps it was just becoming a pain in the butt.
