Looking to pick a fight with MicroSoft!!

Ian & Chris,I don't have MSN Messenger on my task bar. I have never activated it I guess. Windows Messenger activates itself. I was a MSN customer 2 - 3 years ago... I want nothing to do with them since.When I say that Windows Messenger activates itself... I mean of course before I applied John's fix. :)

To disable Messenger do the following:GO to StartRungpedit.mscOnce Group Policy editor opens, go to:Computer ConfigurationAdministrative TemplatesWindows ComponentsWindows MessengerIn the right side pane, double click "do not allow windows messenger to be run"Click the Enabled radio button and it will not load again.

Thank you Piper but I think JohnCi's method is more straightforward to non-techies like me... I do appreciate your input. :)
