FSX won´t start anymore since installation of QW 757

Featured Replies

Hi!

I have a strange phenomenon since I installed the QW 757 yesterday:

When I fire up FSX, it asks me if I want to load the FSForce.dll (I am using the G940 with force feedback) as usual, but then, nothing happens anymore.

The FSX splashcreen stays until I open the taskmanager and end FSX with it.

When I start FSX directly aterwards, it boots up normally... What went wrong here?

OS is Win7 64 bit.

Thanks in advance for your help!

P.S.: One more thing I noticed: GSX doesn't work anymore. So maybe it's related to some error or problem with the Addon Manager which is used by QW and FSDT...

Do you still see Addon Manager and some other DLL based addons working?

If not I guess something could have messed up your dll.xml.

I already substituted the dll.xml with another of a previous working setup. Before the installation of any addon, I make a backup of this file. Still no joy. I'll have to take a closer look tonight. I don't know if all the addons are correctly loaded, so far there are no error messages...

Did you check and make sure a popup wasn't asking you to accept the .DLL entry? Sometimes it's open on the taskbar but not on the desktop, or it's hidden behind the splash screen sometimes.

Can't count the number of times I've spent 5 min staring at the splash screen until I realized I had to accept a new addon into my FSX.CFG allowed section.

Sounds like a torrent issue to me. Download the stand alone addon manager from FSDT and if your product is legit, it should work just fine.
