Hi,

I need to interview an airline pilot for my AVID class...

You can definitely remain anonymous throughout this interview, totally cool

Also, if you do this, please know that I am super grateful and that if there are multiple answerers and I don't pick you, don't be offended, I'm going by what fits me the most.

Here are the things that I really do need. Again, you can remain anonymous, and you can use an alias

-Your credentials/qualifications

-What education and training you got to get where you are/were (which in this case is an airline pilot)

-What classes were especially helpful to you in secondary school (high school), college

-Any advice you'd like to give me (a high school student)(except to go into flying with airlines by the military because I am NOT doing that even though I know it's easier. But I don't like the military...)

-Whether or not you'd still like to have your job

Now, just a little about myself:

I wouldn't say I am a born to be pilot, well, not technically, because I fell in love with flying when I was eight years old and am addicted to jet airlines like crack addicts love their drugs

My first flight was American Airlines flight 81 from Chicago O'Hare (KORD) to Frankfurt (EDDF) on 17 April 2006

My favourite plane is and always will be the Boeing 747 because of its unique model and its size :)

But my other favourites are the Boeing 777, Lockheed L-1011, McDonnell Douglas MD-11, the 737, and the A380

Nothing will ever separate me from planes. Not even amnesia

I play FSX (flight simulator x) every single day that I can

I would also like your favourite plane, if you fly long or short haul routes, and what airline you work for!

Have a nice day!

Hello Bobojojo,

Firstly, let me point out that you need to put your name down in these forums, but more importantly, when addressing professionals you most definitely need to put your name down.

You're obviously very eager and young, so I hope someone will reply to you but, if I may, send some tips your way, when asking for interviews.

Obviously interviews take time, and you need to prepare accordingly, pilots won't want to know about your favourite aircraft and that you fly fsx every day [for advertising an interview].

Try and put down what you want to speak to the pilot about, for example, "I am doing research on how much the average pilot goes to the toilet on a 5 hour flight for my research in to the famous 'pilot-bowel' syndrome. This will enable to me to do scientific research for the objective of curing the disease once and for all. My questions will be directed towards the subject and your responses will be extremely useful in gaining important data to aid my research.

You want to advertise why your candidate will be useful to you, what you want to discover and be appreciative of their time!

I hope you found this advice at least somewhat useful,

Alex

Thank you, Alex. I really do appreciate the tips, however I'm just trying to do a simple interview so I can get information from an actual person (not Google) for my future job B) and yes, sorry about not putting my name down...I'm Khylee Humburd (yes, I understand I have a girl name). This is my first forum on AVSIM--although I think you already knew that ^_^ .

Once again, thank you!

The original post looks much better, I wish you every success on your quest

If you need to interview a high school private pilot, give me a shout. I do realize there are many certified pilots below commercial or ATP in these forums, but just thought I would offer.

Just sent you a message to get you started. Let me know if you need more. Also, I got into aviation in part because of FS7 so don't worry about putting that info out there.

-Marshall Motley

btw Alex, Khylee was a lot more respectful than many of the people we deal with on a daily basis. I am always excited to get to spread my love of flying with someone who is interested, as are most of the real world pilots I know. I know the board policy is put your name, but that is the least of my worries when being asked about what a person can do to achieve his dream.
