Behind the Scenes - Creating American Airlines New Look, Logo and Livery

To me this just sounds like a bunch of Corporate Hoopla to a piano but here is a behind the scenes on the controversial new look.

 

 

I just think the tail should have retained the A/A logo and eagle or that new 'Flight Symbol' on the tail instead of the fuselage.....but the fuselage is OK. I will still fly American anyway.

The fuselage is nothing but one color with writing on it just like Delta or Japan Air. Nothing OK about it, a solid colored tube is all it is which is a copy of what many airlines are doing these days Quantas being another one. No creativity at all.

 

This livery is growing on me considering they payed millions to a consultant to design a unique scheme and what came out was another solid colored tube with a stylized tail. Like Chicago with thousands of the same type houses all over the city, the same designer must be doing all the Airline liveries these days. I wouldn't be surprised in an era where Disney, Viacom, and Clear Channel run everything in the media front. Uniqueness like Southwest Airlines is rare these days. You said you'd fly them anyway which is all that matters to them. If this livery prompted protest directed at the bottom line they'd make a change and fast... If people hate the livery so much maybe that's what they should do.
