3-D aircraft images don't show in start-up menu

My new Windows 8 system does not show the selected aircraft in the startup menu window. When I first installed FS they did; but they went away in a few minutes, never to be seen again. Other than that FS runs well on W8. One caution is that you will find it very difficult to edit files such as aircraft config files. W8 doesn't like people fiddling within its files.

 

If anyone has a suggestion on the 3D aircraft images, please post it.

Hello...

 

I too have just bought a new laptop with win 8 and have the same problem....no 3d images of the selected aircraft. I hope some one clever out there finds a solution!!! I'm not to clever with file fiddling and fixes...
