Hi All

 

 

If you are having problems contacting 'Simon' then please let us know.

 

If it is just 'sometimes' or does Simon appear when you have started GSX/AES from the keyboard.

 

Is the problem every now and again.

 

Also what version of MCE are you using

I am using P3D and since the last install, I have been unable to contact the ramp manager to enable voice interaction with GSX.

 

I will try again tonight as I know the issues in P3D are not present in FSX, and just want to be sure I didn't cause it.

I have the same issue no contact with the ramp manager since the last install(V2.5.2.2). I'm using FSX

If I load the flight after MCE is loaded it doesn't work, but load MCE second and it is able to initialize GSX.

 

The other time it doesn't work for me is if my wingspan is too big for the parking spot. Then I use the GSX menu to edit the parking spot, push Ctrl F12 and MCE reconnects with GSX

Yes same version, does Simon introduce himself when you open MCE?

 

If he doesn't, see if he will when you push ctrl F12. I just started a flight where Simon didn't intro himself, then after pushing Ctrl F12 once, it works.

 

I did the whole catering, boarding, ground open cargo doors, ground close cargo doors etc. Forgot to disconnect the mechanic though and they were very unhappy, so seems to be working.

 

PS - I never run the wizard when I install new versions, if that has anything to do with it. To install a new verison, I uninstall the old version, then install the new version which keeps all my existing settings.

Yes, i have not had voice interaction with GSX since the change, even after restarting GSX.

 

Will hopefully do another test flight tomorrow, a month ago we were sweltering in record heat, today we have cyclonic winds, flooding and no power...*sigh*

Just an update on this issue. Simon is still missing but there is an APB out for him.

OK, found the issue.

 

Indeed it has to do with the latest release.

An attempt was made to document the mce.ini with comments like //Bla Bla

One line that shouldn't have had a comment is this

GroundServicesMode=Native //(valid etries are Native, GSX, AES)

Change it to

GroundServicesMode=Native

or

GroundServicesMode=GSX

I mean leave the //(valid etries are Native, GSX, AES) out

Save the file

 

Simon should be back.

 

It shows you how little things can wreak havoc.

Mine is working again, I had missed Simon! You don't realise how much you use something until it is gone!

 

Voice integration with AES and GSX is a must, specially when you lose it! LOL
