I'm mainly runnig FSX and using Nvidia Inspector v1.9.6.8. Can I disable the Nvidia Display Driver Service to free up some resources? It's default setting is "automatic" in windows services. If so should I disable it from msconfig or services.msc?

No, I wouldn't think you should do that. I assume it's the interface between your nVidia graphics card and the rest of your system, so disabling it might take you back to a standard VGA adapter or something along those lines.

Yeah lol, that's the core part of the Nvidia drivers... definitely can't disable that one!

Actually you can disable (in services) the HELPER service. I've been doing it for years.

Cheers

Not to be confused w/ the Display Driver Service ...

yes you can disable it just fine.  You wont be able to access the NVCP but if you have no use for it or the settings within, by all means.
