Yeah, but if someone else would have answered (me, for instance) he might not have bought it... ^_^

Yeah, I like AS, but not the rain/snow without clouds. It seems to happen a lot lately.

There are 2 major packages considered a "one-stop shop", REX and Active Sky.

But there is a third player that generates weather (and brings with it things like active cameras, turbulence simulation): Opus FSX

If you want to use Opus to generate weather for FSX, then it would be a good idea to get a textures packeage, you can use any of REX/AS/FEX or even others...

I find a mix of REX for sky and water textures and FEX for clouds to be a good balance on my system...

Each will have his/her own preference...

I have to agree. With each sp HIFI release, AS2012 keeps going from strength to strength.

Everything you need in one package.

I agree too. ASA2012 is excellent. I tried REX but it is less convenient and very slow to load. The REX water textures are very good but I doubt if I would buy it for that.

Back up support from AS is top-notch also.

I like the cloud layers of Opus better but I didn't bother learning its camera system as I already use Ezdok, and at least back then without camera effects in use you can't see any turbulence either, don't know if that has changed.

For now I use AS2012.
