Tries changing wave height to 10 ft (weather settings), you should get better results:

See, and the weather engine should be able to create wave height based on wind speed. Large bodies of water will still have waves no matter how calm the wind (oceans, great lakes), inland waters will have waves based on speed as well as move in the direction of the wind.

 

Real weather should interact with the environment with the same effects. XP has all these things modeled and changable, but not tied into the real wx system???
