January 31, 201313 yr Hi all. I 'm using fair weather theme & weather change rate VERY HIGH. Here are the questions: A: I flew from ZSSS to VHHH, along all the route the wind directon was always Mag274 @ 24kts and never changed. Now if i want set the wind to Mag100 @ 8kts, I open the User-defined weather, all weather stations, set the speed and direction that i want, the then click OK. But i found nothing changed. And station is 50nm away from my plane. Could someone tell me where is wrong? B: If I fly with the CLEAR skies theme, also setting the rate of weather change to VERY HIGH, will the rain or lightning come? will the wind changes? I tried finding the answers in Learning Center but doesn't work. thanks in advance!
January 31, 201313 yr A: USER DEFINED WEATHER ------ Did you set your weather Celings saying that from 0-500 feet MSL winds are XXX@2-3knts, 500-2500 feet msl wind is XXX@10knts, 2,501-10,000 next wind whatever, 10,000-XXXXX winds are whatever.... yada yada yada. B. If if is CLEAR SKIES, there is absolutely no weather conditions at all. No Wind, 1-2 puffy clouds every 100 miles, no lightening, no rain. and the pressure will NEVER change from 29.92 (normal Sea level pressure)

Basically, ensure that you have changed the winds at your cruising altitude. Wind in FSX is divided into altitude regions, which you can adjust and customize via the user-defined weather settings, but a low-altitude region will often be selected for customization by default. Therefore, if you change winds without selecting the appropriate altitude region, your changes may not be evident during cruise.
January 31, 201313 yr I would use the RW Weather Feature. It downloads weather charts from Jeppessen along with a weather snapshot and uses it. As for the winds, I have had that problem before and I usually fix it by just doing it twice. eg. I change the winds, press ok, then go back to the weather menu change the winds again and press ok. ~Remy Quote "The Skies the limit" Remy Mermelstein 777-300 FS Pilot, Deltava P3Dv4.1, ASP4, UTLive, ReShade + URP + PTA, All settings max'd, i7 Core Extreme @ 5.2gHz, GTX 1080, CyberpowerPC Gaming Laptop, 500GB SSDx2, 32GB DDR4 RAM.

Hi, is it means if i want using a weather theme (e.g clear skies) + weather change rate hight. I have to setup the condition in my crusing altitude like 10,000ft or 20,000ft, but it seem not real, other saying, no random factor to change without my willing. Or maybe it changed at sea level or 40,000ft so there is no rain, no strong wind can affect me. Any settings can create a nature weather change? thank you ! B)
February 1, 201313 yr Author Don't know what does the slider of weather change rate do in a re-built theme.
February 1, 201313 yr All weather themes are fixed: the weather will never change. The weather change rate is meant for real world weather, not for the themes.

But ask deeper, the rate of change changes what? temperature? dew point? wind? cloud? If true, this must be only uesful for Real-weather Static, isn't it? Because VERY HIGH change rate is slower than real weather EVERY 15Mins. Should I probably turn it off?
February 1, 201313 yr Should I probably turn it off? I believe (and according to Word Not Allowed's Guide) increasing weather change rate negatively affects performance, so I would leave it off if you are not noticing much of a difference.
