February 1, 201313 yr Hi there! Lately, I am more and more intrested in multi monitor setups. I saw a nice working setup a while ago and I´d like to have somethings similar now. I got a new PC 2 months ago (i5 3570K @ 4.4 GHz, 16 GB RAM CL9, Geforce GTX 670 2GB, 480 GB SSD), so I think I should have a reasonable system to give it a try. I´d like to use it mainly with the virtual cockpit, so no additional 2D view for the instruments, a moving map or something similar is needed. My understanding is, that I connect one monitor to the HDMI output, the 2nd to the DVI-I output, and the 3rd to the DVI-D output of my GTX 670. Is this correct? How do I set up these three monitors in Windows, and what do I have to do within the Nvidia settings, and: Is it possible to have FSX running in full screen mode with a resolution of 6.xxx * 1080 then? If so, how hefty will be the impact on the fps side? Thank you very much for your input and effort in advance!

Your setup is correct, you then need to go into the Nvidia control panel and step up your surround desktop to span your full set of screens, it will be 5750. X 1080, unless you use bezel correction, then slightly larger. Fsx will fun in full scree mode fine, there will be an impact as you're driving three times the pixels. You have a decent system though, so should be flyable. I have an older i7-920 with a GTX680 and its flyable, although I don't use any cockpit, my display is only the outside visuals Images to the extreme left and right tend to be fish eyed unless you make three undocked windows to go over the original window. That's what use each set to 50 degrees of view. No more issues with fisheye however you're now running four windows, window.0 full screen behind window.1, window.2 and window.3 on top of it. There's a excel based file called windowmaker on the mycockpit.otg site that will make the .flt file for you so your view angle and zoom is correct and lines up. John Skibo
February 1, 201313 yr Hook them up as you said and use nVidia control panel to set up the surround, adjust bezel alignment, etc It is fairly easy but may take a couple of tries to get it the way you want it. I have been using three 24" widescreen monitors with 5760x1080 resolution. The "odd" resolution is the result of using bezel correction (which is not required but I preferred it). Been using this setup for two years but just reverted back to a single 35" monitor just because I am cutting back sim activity. Have a nice Ergonomic triple monitor stand if you are interested Goodh luck Neal Neal Howard
February 1, 201313 yr Thanks a lot guys! What a fantastic setup, John! And thank you for the offering, Neal. But I´ll probably order a chair with integrated monitor stand in a week or two. I am willing to trade a few fps aganist the sensation of such a wideview monitor setup. But I hope that the loss of performance won´t be too bad. Right now, there are already situations on complex airports in demanding airliners, where there is not too much headroom left (17-19 fps). But on the other hand, I could turn down thes sliders slightly to gain some performance.
