Feelthere E175/190 and 135 Series FMC and VNAV.

Featured Replies

Hey so I recently got the Feelthere Embraer series Aircraft (E-170, 175, 190, 195, 135, etc.) and did the tutorial flights and a couple of other flights in them. I think they are great I just have been having a bit of difficulty with the VNAV and FMC in terms of getting the aircraft to descend at the T/D.

I follow the instructions on programming the FMC and I put in all of the altitude restrictions and set the AP to VNAV. The aircraft climbs, cruises and does everything fine but when the T/D comes up it doesnt descend. It does lower the speed though at each Speed restriction. Any Ideas? I thought it might be the altitude selection in the guidance panel because I set that to the cruise altitude but I tried lowering it and it still wouldnt descend. I followed the instructions very carefully for everything. I ended up just disconnecting the FMC and just flying the aircraft manually with the AP from T/D to landing.

Thanks!

the ERJ 145/135 will not descend as the regional jets don't have full VNAV implementation ... just like the real ones.

for the ejets be sure after setting the new altitude you have confirmed the autopilot recognizes the change and you are not in preview mode. see the 175/195 ejet manual for details as this is described in the introduction flight.

please forgive me for zombie-ing this thread, but I have a question about the ERJ 135/145 regarding this topic.  I understand that the aircraft doesn't have FULL VNAV.  But does the FMS at least have advisory VNAV abilities?

I mean like the PMDG J41 or the ATR by flight1.  They will not fly a VNAV either, but they will say, "hey if you want to make it to UKW vor at 11000 you will need -#### FPM right now to get there".
