Runtime error 53

Recommended Posts

Hello,

for some reason my rcv3.dat file got corrupted and was empty.

This caused runtime error 62 canot read callsigns

I edited the file with notepad to the following:

Korean Air Lines Co Ltd - Korea Republic of,KOREAN AIR,567, 4 , 15 , 30 , 10 , 1000 , 10 , 0 , 10 , 0 , 1 , 1 , 1 , 1 , 1 , 1 , 15 , 100 , 1200 ,, 2 ,C:\Documents and Settings\Vincent\Mes documents\Fichiers Flight Simulator\RKSI-LOWW.PLN

However this now causes runtime error 53 cannot read destination.

I'm a bit lost now, it might be that teher are issues with spacing or punctuation in the file but I'm not sure.

I'd like to avoid a full reinstall so any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

Vincent

Here's mine with a test loaded .pln last. I can send you a .zip file of one so it is not reformatted in the post.

The first line is contiguous from the beginning through the .pln extension.

Also, make sure that flight plan in your listing is still in your .pln folder.

You should know that by not using the default "flight simulator files" or "flight simulator fsx files" folders under you r documents folders if you ever try to save save and reload an .rcd it may not work since the .pln, .flt, .wx, and .rcd files will not be all in the same folder. The placement is determined by FS paths.

If you need a .zipped copy of rcv3.dat PM me your e-mail address.

Hi Ron,

thanks for the input.

I edited the file with your data and changed the path to my own details.

Now, when I load a flightplan, I get runtime error 6, RadarContact.rcv4module.write_callsigns

Subsequently, the rcv3.dat file is erased.

Any idea ?

Thanks

Vincent

Reinstall RC to get the default rcv3.dat back just in case some thing else has problems. After your reinstall update fsuipc and makerwys.exe then rebuild your scenery again to update the install versions.

If you put RC on the same disk volume your old key should work. Before your reinstall open up keyboard.dat in the main RC folder. Your current key is the last entry in there in the last field. Copy/paste that into a document for your use in registering RC. Your user name must be the same as in your original install. When pasting the key into the registration window be sure the cursor rests immediately after the last character otherwise backspace until you do.

After the reinstall finishes and you set the paths and any keyboard assignment changes load a good .pln (default airports preferred) file and then close RC. Then make safe copies of rcv3.dat and keyboard.dat outside of RC to provide backups in case these files need to be restored.

If you have moved RC to a different disk volume or reformatted a disk then you can use the automated registration system if your user name and e-mail has not changed. make sure jdtllc.com is allowed through your ISP and pc spam filters.

If your e-mail has changed and you need a new key the send an e-mail to jd@jdtllc.com Subject new key and user data update. Include your present and old e-mail address, user name, and you can paste in the product code including any "-" in that registration dialog. A manual key processing could take a day or so depending on jd's on-line availability.

Thanks I will try reinstalling.

However, I have an old CD version but cannot find the linkds to the upgrade files.

I think it would be better to download the full 4.30 version instead.

Where can I find the link ?

Thanks

Send an e-mail to jd@jdtllc.com subject 4-3 download. Be sure jdtllc.com is passed through your ISP and pc spam filters.

If you have a different e-mail address than your original registration include your old e-mail address, new e-mail address, current version number, registered user name and any other significant information so your data will be updated for automatic registration and add to the subject line user data update.
