February 7, 201313 yr Commercial Member Someone should have had beans for dinner! We've all had the results of those make our eyes water and throats hurt (though usually for laughing!). Hope the aircraft is truly safe. Dave Hodges System Specs: I9-13900KF, NVIDIA 4070TI, Quest 3, Multiple Displays, Lots of TERRIFIC friends, 3 cats, and a wonderfully stubborn wife.
February 8, 201313 yr It always a little concerning when maintenance cannot duplicate the source of the fumes in this case, and then returns the aircraft to service. Reading more into this story, BWA dispatched a replacement B777-200 (Reg G-VIIH) with a replacement crew. The incident B777 (Reg G-ZZZC) was ferried back to London on Feb 6th as BA9157. Apparently the aircraft prompted an emergency response at Heathrow after touching down on RWY27L when the aircraft veered off the center line and the crew suspected a tire had blown. RJ

February 8, 201313 yr Interesting story, as I live near KPHL. I expect to fly in a BA 777 to London sometime in the summer when I go on vacation to India, hope my flight will be uneventful! A.J. Domingo

February 9, 201313 yr Hmmm....UAL935, another 777-200 is currently squawking 7700 on emergency descent off the coast of Ireland...he was flying EGLL to KLAX but it looks like he is returning towards the UK. Looks like the pilots reported smoke in the cockpit, dumped fuel and landed in Shannon, Ireland. Photo in the link above shows a 787, but it was a 777. Boy, the 787 sure gets a bad wrap with it comes to smoke. RJ
