August 25, 200421 yr Honestly, you suffer through it. It sounds impossible, but that's the way it works out, especially on approach. Of course it is the pilot's responsibility to ensure that he is fit to fly. If on approach and it will keep you from flying the a/c properly, a pilot should give the landing to the guy sitting next to him. If you're the only pilot, then crap your pants and get the folks on the ground in one piece! Em-bare-####-ment is always a great alternative to doing something stupid and crashing. JM2c

August 25, 200421 yr >"Most airliners have lavatories. Go.">>But what if one or two trips doesn't do the trick??? You can't>go if you've just been cleared for takeoff and/or a landing>approach...Come on you guys...you hold it in if you can't make it back to the bathroom. We service numerous Mexico destinations and there are plenty of times when the Revenge of Montezuma hits our guys at the wrong time on the way back to the States. You then call in sick when you get back on terra firma. Common sense, people, please. I myself have had to run back there to drop boys off during taxi out...just tell ground you need to pull out of line for a minute, stop the plane, set the brakes, let the cabin crew know, and then go back there. Hopefully, your partner will not make any kind of embarrassing PA about your plight to the passengers while your sitting on the commode. If you're a GA pilot flying a little plane without a lav...find a place and land. I myself have made "emergency" landings back when I flew planes without bathrooms. Left a big, wet, brown pile in a bush at some uncontrolled airport one night on a long cross country, and which to this day, we still disagree on what airport it was we landed at. All I knew at that point was, there was a beacon, a runway and I had a very concentrated look on my face. And dill0l0 if you can't go to a lav and you can't hold it in...you'll just have to $h1t your pants.
