February 12, 201313 yr I'm leaving the 121 world for the 91 world again. After accepting employment it is amazing how many opportunities have come my way as well. It should really make the next two weeks exciting moving off the island and having a baby in a month! Bye bye Dash's and ATR's! Chris Miller
February 12, 201313 yr Author Back to my King Air. Things are about to get really interesting in the market here in Hawaii so I decided it was time to get out before I was forced out. Chris Miller
February 12, 201313 yr Good Luck to you Chris. Especially with the baby on the way. Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me

February 12, 201313 yr Good luck on the change, Chris. Especially on the baby of course. Get those FCOMs out and the memory items ready. I heard the baby ECAM still doesn't indicate much and you mainly receive the warning tone. ^_^ They still build them like that! Interesting times ahead.

February 13, 201313 yr Best of luck to you Chris. I'm sure Hawaii will miss you but I imagine that returning to the King Air will be like settling back into a favourite arm-chair. I heard the baby ECAM still doesn't indicate much and you mainly receive the warning tone. ^_^ They still build them like that! At least the maintenance is simple: fill up one end, clean up the other...
February 14, 201313 yr Author Lot's of mismanagement brought us to a situation where we only have one airplane operating now. Plus they put out a new contract for us and they want us to fly the ATR's for the same amount as the baby Dash's. I learned a lot, got a type rating, free license and learned that Hawaii is a good place to only be there for a week. I just wish I could start my other job right away and not have to deal with moving stuff off the island and shipping a car back! Chris Miller
February 14, 201313 yr Would it be safe to say that this business is very much in motion, all the time? Not speaking about the plane movement.
February 14, 201313 yr Author Would it be safe to say that this business is very much in motion, all the time? Not speaking about the plane movement. I think that is safe to say in the majority of businesses right now. I am trying to position myself in a more stable sector of the industry. Plus, being back home my network is much larger. There are two flying jobs I may be working on soon plus with my free time I am thinking about getting my brokers license and doing some real estate or finally starting on the cattle ranching that I've wanted to do for the last few years.. February 14, 201313 yr Hey Chris....We have been hosting Couch Surfing for pilots at my house to stay for free at the moment because they are currently paying about $500/hr for training in the Piper Seneca at Paraparamu Airport nearby where we live. I tell you the difficulties of what it takes to be a pilot at the moment....GEEZ  Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me

My wife and I are going to be buying a house and may do that with one of the extra bedrooms for the students of the college I went to. I missed the days of our house we had on the lake as students. At one time there were 14 of us packed into a house for a summer session and time building, luckily I was a permanent resident and had my own room. Every night for the two months we were there we had a giant BBQ cookout with 5 BBQs. Nothing better than fresh meat and some flying. Chris Miller
