Zoom and Pan Rate

Recommended Posts

When I load an aircraft in fsx in the virtual cockpit, I alway have to zoom out to see all of the panel.

Is there a setting I can change to have the zoom where I initally want it?

I use the hat switch to pan around the virtual cockpit, but the movment is so fast that I find it almost impossible to stop with the view I want.

How can I fix this?

Thanks

It can be changed in your cameras file located in same folder as your fsx.cfg file - here is mine change the PitchPanRate=100 and HeadingPanRate=100, usually its to slow thats why mine is cranked to 100 but lower these numbers and it will slow it down.

[CameraDefinition.003]

Title = Spot

Guid = {BCA3FDD1-FB83-4BBA-8407-4922A7F0D00C}

Description = This is the description of the spot view.

Origin = Center

SnapPbhAdjust = Ordinal

SnapPbhReturn = False

PanPbhAdjust = Swivel

PanPbhReturn = False

Track = FlatChase

ShowAxis = No

AllowZoom = Yes

InitialZoom = 1.0

SmoothZoomTime = 2.0

ShowWeather = Yes

XyzAdjust = FALSE

Transition = Yes

ShowLensFlare=TRUE

Category = Outside

ClipMode = Spot

PitchPanRate=100

HeadingPanRate=100

PanAcceleratorTime=0

If you do change the view so that you can see more of the panel i.e. zoom out, you should bear in mind that this then gives an unrealistic view. Assuming you have a widescreen monitor and are using the wideviewaspect=true edit in your fsx.cfg file, the correct zoom is 1.0. If you want to see more of the panel, use the hat switch to look.

I have tried making changes in cameras.cfg that were suggested above but the zoom and panning speed did not seem to change.

Is there something that I am not doing right?

I had ezdok 1.17 installed but removed it because I could not set up a top down view.
