February 26, 201313 yr Maybe is a nonsense, but maybe not, and give some clues to the people who really knows about graphics issues. Is very well known that one of the "problems" with DX10 is the AI or network traffic not appearing properly. Are the "white" planes. But something annoying has happened to me at least two times. Once connected I saw perfectly the traffic liveries (remember one TAROM taxiing and one VARIG) and only later they become white. I do not understand why this happens, or if this happens when more planes are charged and then one livery is not displayable and provoke all of them changing to white. Make this comment in other thread but has happened again and I give it enough importance to put it in an isolated thread. Regards
March 1, 201313 yr You stay here and keep reading the posts and you see them all..... LOL! Do you have the latest Addon_Converter_X installed? A new version was just released. Do you have the highmemfix=1 fix in the Graphics section of your FSX.cfg? What AI program are you using? What was the network? VATSIM? The only AI program that I know of that is 100% DX10 compatible is MyTrafficX (or at least I have not seen any anomalies and I have been using DX10 since Steve released his first Shader10 fix). I believe VATSIM has some old FS9 models still flying but can't say for sure as I do not use this program. Only the Addon_Converter_X is going to fix these types of issues when you have old FS9 models flying in the background. DX10 is not perfect and never has been perfect. In fact, this is why the FSX development team (Aces) decided to call it a Preview as Acceleration was ready to be released and they didn't want to delay it further. They were hoping to better the programming later on but the Microsoft management had different thoughts and stopped any further development (or that's the way I understand it). Fortunately, we have as members here at AVSIM and great minds like SteveP who has been successful in fixing some of the broken pieces of DX10. PaulJ has been working hard to keep it altogether here in this forum. So, bottom line.... You will see some anomalies with DX10 and, if they can't be fixed by the Addon_Converter_X, then you will have to live with these anomalies or go into your AI program and delete the models. March 2, 201313 yr Author Hi, Jim. I am going to respond all your questions and leave you decide if the info is relevant or not. Happy to see you find it funny. At least, somebody have had a good time reading. ^_^ You stay here and keep reading the posts and you see them all..... LOL! I am not giving advise or teaching anyone what to do. I am merely stating one thing that happens to me when I fly in IVAO network, to let people who is really expert to have the most information they can and avaliate its importance. For me it is not the same thing IVAO traffic not being able to be displayable at all, or being displayable partially or (and this is the fact) being completelly displayable in certain circumstances and then degrading to white 3D models. Do you have the latest Addon_Converter_X installed? No Do you have the highmemfix=1 fix in the Graphics section of your FSX.cfg? Yes What AI program are you using? None. Ai traffic sliders set to 0, The AI traffic is injected only when I fly in IVAO. When I fly disconnected, there is no traffic at all. What was the network? VATSIM? IVAO. The fact is that when I connect to Ivao in one parking position and AI network traffic is injected, I can see the liveries of the planes of the other people playing in IVAO. Only after several seconds those planes become "white" models. So the info I was wishing to share in that those models are correctly displayable in DX10 ant that something happens while (very little) time passes that make them being "partially" displayable as white solid 3D models. Regards Jon
March 2, 201313 yr Hi Jon, Sorry my response upset you. I apologize. Communications, especially written, are sometimes hard to convey to everyone. This is why we have wars. Simmers come here and say they cannot see the textures or the textures are white. You say the textures look okay then turn white. I don't recall ever hearing about that happening before. Obviously it is happening as you saw it! You need to try the Addon_Converter_X as it converts old textures on the fly and that could be happening in your case. The product is in demo mode for 10 minutes at a time so you should be able to see if the product works for you and, if it does, you can purchase it. I know you stated you do not have Addon_Converter_X installed but the issue you are having is a perfect description of what would happen if you had the Addon_Converter_X in demo mode and textures were converted okay for the first few minutes then the demo would quit and the textures would turn white. The textures turning white could also be a rendering problem. You see the textures for a few seconds/minutes and they slowly disappear because your CPU/GPU is having a hard time rendering the product. Make sure you deleted the Shader10 folder in your User\AppData\Local\Microsoft\FSX\Shaders10. The folder will be rebuilt when you restart FSX. Try turning off aircraft shadows as I heard that has caused problems with some AI aircraft. Other than that, there's really no additional suggestions I can offer. You are the first person I have seen with this problem (and I read 95% of all the posts here on AVSIM). Hopefully someone who is also networked with IVAO can comment and let us know if they are seeing the same problem. Hope you find a fix soon! March 2, 201313 yr Author No offense, Jim. English is not my mother language and perhaps I also have very thin skin. But the fact is I did try Addon Converter X demo (and run without issues), but I uninstalled it... May be something remained installed and that's why I have this... But the efect does not last "minutes" but seconds, and then they become white, but suddenly, and not degrading little by little. I do not consider this a problem at all, but a hope.... May happen Mr. Steve or other pope find it challenging, or (easier), may happen this is a very specific behaviour an is related to pre-existing Addon Converter. Who nows.. Shadows where turned off time ago, as they do not play well with some AI traffic. Any case, I also apologise if my post has not been polite enough. Like this forum, and like the people who write here, and like most persons who devote their time to let others enjoy, or teach new things for the only pleasure of helping others. Best regards Jon
March 2, 201313 yr Hi Jon, I was hoping you found the problem and fixed it. You do well with English. Hopefully, some day we'll find a fix. March 24, 201313 yr I`ve found (I go online with Vatsim), that running FSInn, coupled with IVAO aircraft, and running addonconverterX, that all the liveries do show in DX10 mode.
February 24, 201412 yr may be its late but again ı wanted to share, I have encountred with tha same problem and ı found solution for that, ı unclicked "Aircraft casts shadows on itself" part on the aircraft settings and unchecked direxctx10, its ok now
