Whats this bump on top of my NGX 600 an how do I get ride of it?

it's a sat-com antenna go into fmc and take it off

Read the intro manual.

As Elijah mentioned, it's the SATCOM antenna, which can be removed through the options explained in the intro manual.

Thanks, I saw it on a real NGX in a video on youtube before that I though it was a Graphics glitch.

Dudes, if I read the manuals for everything I want and need to do I would never have the time to do anything!

Isn't this the PMDG Support Forum?

Anyway, now that I know it is not a graphics glitch it doesn't bother me :-)

Right, but at least read the intro manual. It is only 134 pages, a must read!!!!!, before trying anything with this plane/software.

You are correct, but it isn't the "PMDG We Do The Research For You Forum." If you buy a study-level sim, you're going to have to put in some work to learn it, and it's not our job to do that for you.

I think that if you don't want to address a query posted that another forum user makes then just don't bother. Leave it to someone else who happens to fell like sharing. I have skimmed the manual but didn't recall coming across this and assumed that it was a graphical glitch. Not an unreasonable assumption since it seem like an odd appendage that would create drag. If I can post a simple question on the PMDG support form in 60 seconds and another user who knows the answer is kind enough to take 60 seconds to provide a simple answer then thats exactly what I will do as apposed to spending an hour looking over the manual for the answer. I don't need anyone lecturing about the the necesity for study. I have 2 honours degrees and a glider pilots license. So again if you take issue with the post ignor it. Nobody says you have to reply.

I half agree with you. It's true that all of the info is in the manuals, and also true that sometimes it's near impossible to find answers when you don't even know which search terms to use. It's perfectly OK to ask a question here.

On the other hand, using Google with the search phrase "NGX bump on fuselage" I came up with this AVSIM thread from 18 months ago in less than 1 second. If you can't find it in the manuals, there's a very good chance Google will do the work for you.

Far enough however by that rational no one would ever have to post a question on any forum because all of the answer are easily accessible via google. My point is that it is inappropriate to answer a question and insult the intellegence of the person asking the question in the same breath. It would be considered inapproprate in real aviation. If it where not the case that this is the official PMDG forum I would have asked the question elsewhere. In general I find that there is an air of superiority complex here that is not apparent at other Flight Sim Forums. Thats as much as I am willing to say on the matter. I do not want to attract the a ire of the happiness police

There's a post like this about once a month.

RTFM versus non-RTFM and it's the same [cow-stuff] every time...

Why post if you don't want to answer my question?

If you know the answer, can't you just say it?

And so on...

On the flip side:

Why have a manual if nobody ever reads it?

If you bought a simulator that's meant to be as real as it gets, you should at least do a little reading.

And so on...

The issue, however, remains that people codify on receipt of a message, and codify on delivery of a message. In simple terms: people interpret what they read, and bias what they say.

Moral: the more people your message passed through, the amount of bias and potential for incorrect information increases. If you remember playing the game "Telephone" as a kid, you'll understand a similar concept. Always go to the source for information if at all possible. That source is the manuals. If you don't understand what the manuals are telling you, that's a really good reason for the forums.

I bet if I used that Acronym I would be perminently bared for AVSIM but then I am just a 1 star newbie
